Finally....all those bags of financial records that were in my basement when it flooded have been (more or less) dried out. Now comes the exceedingly tedious task of looking at each paper and deciding if it can be put in the recycle bin, shredded or just a few numbers that can be blacked out with a permanent marking pen. Things like cancelled checks, bank statements and tax forms get shredded (even if I no longer have those accounts). Old bills that are no longer relevant that just have account numbers can be blacked out like cable and utility bills. The ones like home maintenance and car repair receipts get trashed - they don't have any SSN#s or account info.

see...if only you'd been doing all your banking and bill paying online these last 20 years you wouldn't have this hugely tedious job to do now...

HI Hollydolly,Yes having a great time &LOVE living here. I especially enjoy inviting my friends who haven't seen my apt and others to come for lunch,sometimes dinner. It's a 10 min walk back to my old apt building.Whenever my closing on my apt happens,{ crossing my fingers its some day next week} it will feel strange to hand over the keys to someone else after 36 yrs Sue
 
Drove 2 miles to receive in left shoulder, KP clinic influenza and COVID-19 booster vaccines.
Then Walmart NM for $64 of groceries.
Mic'd a Knorr Rice Sides package of Broccoli Cheese for lunch washed down with cold whole milk. Still wondering about weekend choices since I don't see any outdoor rock music events.
Oh well, yesterday began reading the fascinating 288 page anthropology book, Marriage and Civilization -- How Monagmy made us Human, and am already on page 168. Lots of world wide history of monogenism and polygenism, without going very deeply into the psychology of human mating. Solid arguments for recent monogmy societies being the better path for our human future versus historically dominant polygenism multiple wife societies, a long record of painful atrocities against families, bloody conflict, and wars.

Well this seems to be the year of the HACKERS!!! Got notice
in mail that local hospital has been hacked, actually it was in
jan or something, and compromised a lot of stuff....gahhh....tired
of this....let's see ATT, Local Hospital, and a couple others that

Are they just letting you now this..now ?.. almost a year later ?
 
I've seen this happen before too... long time ago.
They will say it was not discovered until the recent date, but also found to have been in effect since the earlier date without their knowledge. As sneaky as these people are, I suppose it could be true. However, they may also just be "covering their a$$" too.

These people who are hacker/pc savvy, should be fined/jailed according to their skill level, not their "importance".
 
Did some financial stuff very early in the morning and took care of light chores. I then readied myself to take the train to the Hoboken/Jersey City waterfront park. I had intended to go yesterday but saw that today would be a little cooler (high 78), The temperature was perfect and it was a nice, sunny day. I walked the promenade to the Jersey City side and walked over to the massive sculpture in the Newport area of J.C.

Then I went to Loradella's pizza shop and had a beef patty. I wanted pizza but was advised the two fresh ones that just came out of the oven were probably cut with the same cutter as the ones with (pork) sausage. Last time, the cook was just putting a fresh one out and washed the cutter for me before cutting it.

The train rides were nice, quiet and relaxing. I listened to music and looked out the windows instead of playing with my phone. I actually saw some things I hadn't seen before. On the way home, I stopped at a convenience store to get a pint of ice cream. Got strawberry, which I haven't had in a long time (not my favorite). It was Welsh Farms with a big $2.99 printed on the container but the cashier charged me $3.00.

I asked him jokingly (but not jokingly) why he was overcharging me a penny. He gave some sort of explanation then said give me $2.99. We both laughed and I told him to go ahead and keep the penny for someone who is short a penny. Wished each other a nice day and I was on my way. I like having fun with young people. Surprisingly the ice cream was very good with whipped cream. Not a brand I buy often. I think the strawberry is better than their other flavors.

Couldn't wait to get home to see my new favorite show...High Potential (ABC/Hulu). It will be more T.V. tonight since my chores for the day are done.

Recently, I bought two 40" VIZIO TVs for $158 each with supposedly 6,000 free programs. It seems to be true. My favorite is "YouTube" and within it search, "when your dog is the most tender big brother." It reminds me so much of my own toddlers and our pups. Here are just a few examples of what I love. (My grandson obtained at age 3 his own Beagle puppy, and the two have been inseparable ever since.)

The toddler opened the dog door, crawled into it, closed the door, and then cuddled up with her pup.

Dogs are absolutely great babysitters and protectors of children. I still remember: when my wife called our girl toddler and she didn't come, then our Doberman Pinscher understood the situation and pulled our toddler by her panty to my wife. I have hundred of such stories to tell. Especially larger dogs are extremely tolerant of all the mischief little kids do to them. My grandson as a toddler gave my 95 pound Boxer "Ross" dirt to eat, and he did!
