Sunny morning.🌞🌞 I'm just having a cuppa tea before I leave to do some stuff in my local market town... it's really diabolical because the parking shortage is such that I have to leave long before any appointment for fear I cannot park and have to hunt for a parking space at the other side of town and walk..

The sofa I had ordered which is being hand-made, is ready, for delivery at the beginning of November... 3 weeks earlier than they predicted, so needless to say I haven't sold my 2 sofas that I have here.. I'm left with just a week to get them up for sale and gone before the new Sofa arrives... .

I'll have to get them up for sale today when I get home, and keep my fingers crossed someone is interested in having them ..otherwise I'm not going to have space for the new one to arrive..

@Blessed I keep a tissue in one pocket of the Ladies Loungewear. This is so I can forget it's there, throw it in the washer and make a mess to complain about :ROFLMAO:

@hollydolly One new sofa to replace two sofas. See? Minimalist. JMO, but you need to buy a dryer, too, since *we* really don't know when we'll be moving house.

It's going to be yet another sunny day. High temp around 80.

The five snapdragons that came home with me yesterday are going to get planted, and if DD has emptied the washer and dryer, laundry will get done today instead of tomorrow.

@Georgiagranny ...the dryer is a more difficult situation because the old one is built in to my kitchen unit covered with a door.. but it was specially made for me the last time I had the kitchen remodelled, and it was to take a tumble dryer, half size..IOW one which holds only 6kgs of laundry.. the space isn't big enough for a larger machine

The manufacturers of the one I have which is 25 years old, no longer make these smaller dryers, and the smaller dryers on the market now by other companies are fairly poor performances in comparison.

there was a discussion at one time about me putting a full size in the barn, but that's really not practical..

I do believe that's called fickle. Fickle is when you only want something until you can have it. Then you don't want it any more ;)

I went out today to Kroger to take advantage of some loss leader sales, Brand name Kelllogs cereals, $1.99 box, large size Chips Ahoy cookies for $3.00, 6lbs of butter for the freezer (holiday cooking], lots of Campbells Soups for cold weather and receipes. I got some lovely chicken breasts, that I have poached now. Making sour cream enchiladas tomorrow, Will save some of the meat and broth for freezer for chicken and dumplings when we have our first 50degree day.

I need to make another dessert but I have not decided, I think a pineapple sheet cake with cream cheese frosting, I have all the ingredients by say a lemon meringue sounds good as well.

That is sometimes a hard thing when we live alone, trying to decide what to cook. Used to be the husband and the son set the menu and I would just cook, I am kind of lost without there input.

It was good to get out since I have not been out for a week. See lots more streets around town are going through construction. I don;t like it but it has to be done to keep up with growth.
I'm glad you still cook. Chicken and dumplings and pineapple sheet cake sound so good! So do enchiladas!

On my early walk at 6:45, temp was 65 as I went around building twice,a tad breezy watching the sun rise
Today ,Don who lives in co op apt building where I use to live, is coming for lunch with his partner, Dave, they've been here twice. Dave's brother, Rob&wife Lynn are visiting{ they live in S Carolina} for couple of days. They haven't seen my new apt, look forward to seeing them
The rest of my day read NYT,take another walk before the rain comes, go to dinner at 5:30. I never know who I'll be sitting with in dining room

Since, in theory, you’re only going to be moving on from that house in the near future, why not buy one of these and make do. You’ll need a dryer in the house when you sell.

I don’t think I’ve read a positive review for a long lasting, exceptional dryer in years. They’re now designed to fail.

Good Wednesday morning, Oct 23rd! Today DH & I have baby grandson (nearly 8 months now). A complete change of pace from his brother, TGS, who is nearly 3. Love both stages, so it's all good.

Tag-team infant wrangling will likely consume most of my energy today. I anticipated this yesterday, so I assembled a big salad and prepped a stir fry.

My mammogram was quite a fiasco, since the main machine was down and I had to walk out to the mobile unit. It was a miserable experience, but at least the results came back "normal".

My back is slightly better today, and it feels more like a sore muscle(s). I'm getting relief with gentle stretching. So I don't think it is kidneys after all, and I did not call the doctors office for an appointment. I'll see how it goes.

I'm still not doing very much. This afternoon, Dio and I are probably going to take my Mom to vote.

Yes, take it wasy @Trila. Hurray for your normal mammo!

Made a small pile of meatballs and a small tomato sauce with some hot salami it.
Cleaned up.
DS coming after work to fix the bifold doors the hide the W/D upstairs... some screws fell out and I can't find them.
There have been some brush fires around; we're very dry and it's been almost 80F the past few days. We used to call a very warm streak Indian Summer. I still do; it's a pretty term for it.

Maybe a heating element @hollydolly ? If it's 25 years it's probably a good one but the elements do wear out.
well the thing is the o/h repaired it twice over the years.. Just bought a part online for a few pounds and repaired, it saving a substantial amount of money on calling out a repair man. However this time, when it blew, whatever caused it.. the same day the handle snapped off the door...so I can't even close the door on it either..so even if I was willing to pay a repair guy, the handle and little door clip is broken beyond repair so it has to go...

this is very much different to how you were in the last place, isn't it.. and it sounds like you're having a great time...with all these visitors..

It's been a long day..I just looked at the time..past 7pm, can't believe it...

In amongst all the chaos today, I was able to get my nails done.. then just at the end of the day I went into the pub and got myself an all day breakfast fry up... save me cooking when I got home this evening..

IMG-6194.jpg

had more legal correspondence to deal with... and tomorrow I'm going to have to measure my sofas, and photograph them and get them up for sale on as many websites as I can, and try and get them gone asap...otherwise there's going to be no space for the new one to come in ..
