OK, it's official, I have a cold, not just a little cold but a coughing, sore throat, runny noise, sneezing, head achy cold

It was a lovely bright day today and, earlier, I thought I was better. Good thing is that I have got all the jobs done which were on my list for this week so, worst case scenario for tomorrow, is that I will be pottering around at home with a box of tissues, cough syrup and a bottle of lucozade. I can think of worst ways to spend a day but, I will be so peeved if the weather is lovely again tomorrow

@hearlady We went to Aldi, and they didn't have the jammies that were advertised but did have the short ones. Maybe your Aldi has the Ladies Loungewear (with pockets) this week?

I didn't get anything from the Aisle of Shame, but DD did. Told ya! She needs to be in the Hall of Fame

Sheets are washed and dried. I gotta make the blankety-blank bed as soon as Maggiecat gives up her napping spot where I need to step.

I was in Aldis today. No loungewear. Only four piece pajamas (or three?). I got some Moser Roth Raspberry Almond Chocolate to drown my sorrow.

My dog is not doing well. For about 3-4 months now, her walk has been a little weak, but for the past few days, it's worse. Yesterday she could barely walk! Same today. I have to take her to the vet, maybe today if I can get her in the car. I couldn't carry her to the car I don't think.

Last night my son was here. He said I could call him to get her there, but he works as does Dil who runs a day-care. All my neighbors work. There's one other person I can call, after I call the vet......

Doggie is 14 this month. I may have to make a decision that will break my heart.

I'm sorry Rose. Hope he gets better.

Ok I have this cold. I finally went to the Dr. because, get this, I also have pink eye! She said it is going around the elementary school. I'm sure I likely got it along with this cold when doing errands.
She confirmed no strep throat. I was sure I didn't but my throat was pretty sore.

Some good news. My DD who moved close last Christmas is hosting Thanksgiving in their new house! Yay!

Had to go to the big city this afternoon for an echo cardiogram battery. Two hours drive each way. These were the tests the docs forgot two weeks ago which led to the last second cancelation of my surgery. Now AGAIN I wait on the docs.

Thank you @Rossana. No mobile vet close enough. I think now, that we can make it till Sat. when my son is available. Doggie can make it outside, and also has pee-pads.

It was this day a year ago , that we lost both dogs on the same day....our beautiful Labradoodles, Stan and Digs age 15 and 13.....They grew up together and they left us together to go over Rainbow bridge to join their bigger brother who passed 3 years before.

@Georgiagranny, while I have not been to Aldi lately to check for pocket pajamas. I did a couple of weeks ago to stock up kitchen supplies, foil. zip freezer bags etc.

As we discussed earlier this week I did make the sour cream chicken enchiladas, they turned out great, sorry you could not be here.

Anywho, the reason for the post, is that I bought a salsa at Aldi's and am very pleased with it. It is called Two Sisters Salsa out of Louisiana. I got the original and it has just a touch of heat. It has vinegar in it which I love. There is no cilantro, I do like it but don't have to have it. Many people think cilantro tastes soapy, I think it was about 2.39, cheap compared to some I have tried. It is a fine grind, not chunky, I prefer the fine. Yeh, my life is so exciting I get worked up about salsa - while you have a thing for pockets LOL

Thank you @hearlady . She seemed better later today. Could not get to the vet, but will go Sat when DS will load her into my car, but he can't go with me. Vet staff will get her into the clinic and back in the car. How I will get her into the house, I dunno.

Something is wrong w/her left hind leg. She hobbles. I'm hopeful it can be fixed.

I updated my financial spreadsheets.

In the evening we went to our cousin's wake & funeral. We got there in time to talk with her daughter and relatives we hadn't seen in a couple of years. We only stayed for 1/2 hour of the funeral so my son could be home for his bedtime.

Our cousin was remarkable. She was married into the family and her husband had died at a very young age. But she visited my uncle when he was in a nursing home every single day, even when her mother died. She didn't drive, so had to take the bus up there and that bus line wasn't the most reliable. Her phone conversations were brief, but she would call every 3 or 4 weeks to check in and see how I was doing. May she rest in paradise.

Chilly day but dry and sunny. Leaves got picked up, so I was out there putting together the next load. Raking, mulching down, filling the big yard dumpster that the container service provides.

I saw that tomorrow will be rainy, so just now I went out into the dark with a red head lamp on and raked up more leaves to stuff into some yard barrels. They won't pick up from those barrels any more, so later I'll have to repackage into paper bags after mulching those down. It least they won't be wet though.

This morning I nearly lost my hat in the wind. This afternoon I was lucky it didn’t take me away. Now that the weather is colder, I swear that I waste hours just putting on all the layers and accoutrements. It’s not even boot season yet. Brrr

Also wasted time arguing with the computer. It refused to behave the way I wanted.

last eve, rain lightning windy as heck...think we had about 1.25
inches of rain, guess the "net" went down for couple hours, don't know yet if i lost any trees....no big plans yet, Homecleaner lady comes today to do her thing.....My right foot
is 99% better feeling yay....so need more coffee....take care all..

We've had a plan for the past week that hasn't been implemented for one reason excuse or another (read: DGD didn't want to get up early or conveniently "didn't feel good"). Anyway, today's the day because she's got a dog-sitting gig this weekend and needs to be there at noon.

It's only the end of October, but I'm already tired of the Christmas commercials. No wonder people turn into grinches!

On my early morning walk twice around the building at 6:45, temp was 39,no wind refreshing as I looked up saw the moon/couple of stars as the sun was beginning to rise
This morning Mary&I are going on our weekly 'road trip' today to Target, looking for mats to place my winter boots in closet,some hangers. The rest of my day read NYT, take another walk before rain comes late in afternoon. I'll be going to dinner with my friend, Connie at 5:30
Yesterday,my real estate agent/friend, Patrick called, the date for my closing is this Weds10/30,he'll find out what time&let me know .This long frustrating nightmare is coming to an end, makes me feel a lot better.I plan to tell the board members just what I think of them one last time when I hand over my keys.

@Jules I sure don't miss having to wear an extra 10 lbs of clothes from mid-October until mid-April. It was such a relief to "unhunch" my shoulders when spring rolled around.
