This morning Mary&I are going on our weekly 'road trip' today to Target, looking for mats to place my winter boots in closet,some hangers. The rest of my day read NYT, take another walk before rain comes late in afternoon. I'll be going to dinner with my friend, Connie at 5:30
Yesterday,my real estate agent/friend, Patrick called, the date for my closing is this Weds10/30,he'll find out what time&let me know .This long frustrating nightmare is coming to an end, makes me feel a lot better.I plan to tell the board members just what I think of them one last time when I hand over my keys.

It's so overcast today it's felt like it's actually evening....all day...

I got a few pieces furniture moved into place.. I should't have done it because I;m not permitted to lift hevy things prior to my surgery.. however I took all the drawers out of one chest to make it lighter....and then hopefully I'll be able to get some of the smaller pieces of furniture to the charity shop after school half term which it is now...and for the next week

I honestly don't know how much these kids can learn compared to us...when we were t school

They go to school at 9m..the senior school comes out at 2pm.. the little ones at junior school come out at 3pm... but they're off for a week or 10 days every 6 weeks.. then off for 2 months in the summer and 2 weeks at easter & Christmas... and this doesn't include the inset days , or teachers' ''shopping days''...

We were in school at 9pm sharp.. not out until 4pm... and only had half the holidays these kids get

Drove up to the Spey Valley Brewery this morning as they are giving 20% discount on beers. Bought some new craft beers with great names like 'Sunshine on Keith' and 'Ten Storey malt bomb'. My current favourite is 'Old Jock'.

Drove down to Portsoy and had a lovely lunch in 'Aspire' - a converted church which still retains some excellent stained glass.

how fab.. a converted church into a diner... shame about the church but great idea...

It's been such a dreary day today. My cold was particularly horrible this morning :( but, it does seem to have got better during the day.

The only thing I achieved today was to shorten a pair of denim culotte style trousers so, not a completely wasted day. The overlocker misbehaved just as I finished the hems but, I really did not have the patience to re-thread it today so, that will have to wait!

Hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day :)

I finished my election ballot by discussing the things I was undecided about with my wife. We voted the same on everything except one, which involved a school district asking to be able to increase their debt limit by a billion dollars!

I'm an old Keynesian. You accumulate debt when the economy is in the doldrums — not when it's healthy.
