Morning all....I set here in my heating pad chair (LOL) cause
of my hip pain, but otherwise just as cheerful as an 85yo can
be LOL@@@ Woke at 3am, went back to sleep, arose at 7am...
not bad....but lotsa pain today it seems....45F now going to 65F
later on....good chance of storms this afternoon,....only plan
is calling a friend to come put on a new toilet seat....hope he
has time today....saw two stray kats come into yard last eve, then they started chasing each other fighting, neibor lady left
me a Nextdoor msg about one of them she took pics of, we sorta try to locate strays for their owners, lots of cats & dogs
going stray for some reason...welp, enuff from me, love you all for letting me be here.......!!! :love::whistle::coffee:
 

Congratulating myself on taking 3 gallons of bottled water I had "won" for buying groceries the other day out of the car.

With the weather change from near-80s days to cold again, it was only 28 F when I got up this morning. Those very thin-walled "free" bottles of water wouldn't withstand a freeze.
 

I;ve been out and vacc'd my car with the little cordless vac I use specifically for it. it's only a little cheap thing , but it does a great job on the car...

Then I was about to throw out a little fan heater that I've had for a few years, because it suddenly stopped working.. but before I did I thought I'll check everything is well in the plug, wiring was fine, so I changed the 13 amp fuse..and BINGO.. it's working again.. Go me !:D

Just had an Amazon delivery of Lutein Supplements...

It's not even 3pm yet, I feel like I've done enough today for a week... This is the punishment you get when you get up super early.... :ROFLMAO:

We had breakfast at our favourite local cafe down on the prom. Then I had my Flu Jab. Back home and we've had Likkle Grandaughter all afternoon - now a big 6 weeks old. This evening we're all going to see a train stop on the big viaduct over the estuary while the posh folks (£400 a seat) watch fire works over the far shore.

I went to Wally World this AM; as I turned into the street that accesses the parking lot, I realized it's the first of the month and everyone and his brother are out shopping. It was like the roller derby, navigating the aisles with all those carts + they have staff doing on-line shopping and stocking shelves. Blessedly, once I got to the checkout line it didn't take too long

Also doing some cooking ahead today... Baking sweet potatoes and butter nut squash. In the next few days, I'll make bean soup and also a vegetarian favorite, squash/cauliflower/potato soup.
 
Toddler grandson is here this morning through tomorrow evening. Will also have his baby brother for a few hours this evening, but not all day and not overnight.

No business chores, the house is clean, and Halloween is put away, so I'll be able to just play! (He's watching his special show with Grandpa right now...)
 
This morning I was telling DD about last night's disturbing dream. She was explaining to DGD a who's who of the people who populated it, and DGD was agog at how far back some went...like her great-grandparents. She said "My god, Gramma! You're older than dirt."

Yeah. I know. They and I were born in the last century, but the next time she says something like that, I swear I'm gonna smack her upside the head:mad:.

It wasn't a good time to remind me of my mortality⚰️🪦.

Yay! I got Android Auto working in the car again.

The other day it worked fine. Then before coming home I got a short-lived message about turning it off. Never got it going after that.

Tried screwing around for two days, looking up help and trying any number of things. Managed to get the car deleted from my phone (grr). Rebooted the car infotainment system, even went through the mechanic's diagnostics screens. No luck, Tried another USB cable, no luck.

At least I got a shorter cable into the car, with a right-angle USB-C at the phone end.

I found that new Govee light bulb in the neighborhood again. Also, some sucker seems to have bought a new Rivian truck... but I was careful not to pair with that.

I was able to play audio over Bluetooth and USB from the phone, make and answer phone calls. But I kept getting "Device not responding" on the car when I tried full smartphone operation.

But finally I found a setting on the car that had this phone marked as disabled. Enabled that, unplugged/replugged the phone, and the phone and car entered Android Auto Setup. This also installed the newest Android Auto from the phone onto the car.

So it's all working again and I have new features. Plus it got me around to changing cables so it's all good and a win. Most phone apps will work on the infotainment screen now, but it disallows any video playing unless the car is in Park.


Scares me to think that some people would end up paying for a dealer mechanic to handle this stuff. At least I got a chance to browse through the car's trouble logs. All I found was that I don't have a SiriusXM subscription, but then I already knew that. What kind of caveman uses that these days? New models don't even include it any more.

Personally, I don't like any of them.

I love fabrics so this kind of thing appeals to me. This designer also sells furniture and I really like the armchairs, they look so pretty and fresh.

This armchair and stool are lovely, I really like the fabrics and this is the exact shade of blue I love, it has coastal vibes. I also like that the colour of the sofa and rug contrasts and yet, I think goes well with the blue.

Tonight I'm taking benadryl. I don't care if it does contribute to Alzheimers. It has 25 mg diphenhydramine hydrochloride, absolutely not recommended for anyone over 65. Being older than dirt, I'm over 65.

DD and DGD are off to a Mother's Finest concert. Nobody asked but whoa, I'd go in a heartbeat! I was only 30 when the band formed in 1970. Yeah. I remember.

After the benadryl tonight, maybe I won't remember :ROFLMAO:.

The posse wanted to know what's for dessert tomorrow. Apple Upside Down Cake. They complained that they have to wait all day for it, so guess what? They're getting it for breakfast. Yup. Life is short; eat dessert first. Can't get much first-er than breakfast.
