I'm already on blood thinners @Aunt Bea, have been for years. Had leg stent surgery a "million" times already. I know it's more than 15 years. This has been ongoing problem.

The biggest problem about taking this test is I have to leave home. I hate doing anything lately.
I have had two GP doctors quit in the last 2 years. I had the new one up to understanding most of my maladies, which have been going on now for 20 years. So now I have a new one that I am to meet for the first time next Tuesday, Election Day. It sucks!

I had a visit with my counselor this AM, which went well. Then I stopped at the library for a couple books and after I put them in the car, I went for a short walk in the quiet neighborhood, choosing to focus on finding beauty amid the on-going messiness of the continued clean up after the hurricane.

I spotted bright red berries of a dogwood against the burnished brick-red leaves… I enjoyed bird song and savored the cool breeze…. I said a friendly hello to a lady relaxing on her porch and she smiled and responded about what a beautiful day it is ☺️

Now to the grocery store for a few items.

Y’all have a lovely day 🍁📚🕊️

you should try living here.. we rarely ever get to see the same doctor twice... long gone are the days when each doctor knew us...

Same here. When I first moved here, there was a health centre in the next village, run by two doctors. They were the sort who knew people as people, not just another patient. When they retired, the centre continued for a few years with other doctors, but after Covid, the centre closed as there was a shortage of GPs to run it. Now, you can usually just get a chat with the doctor by phone or video link. I think you have to be dying before you can actually see a doc.

Considering what some of you are complaining about, it's no wonder that www.kp.org obtains a five star rating from www.cms.gov that administers the Government Medicare Insurance Program. I have at Kaiser one permanent physician who takes care of me and is familiar with my concerns. However, when I want to see a physician the same day, then I usually have to see another physician. I also like that I always can see another physician for a second opinion if I don't like what the first physician tells me.

From 2008 to 2018, I was covered by two different medical insurances that was expensive. While I stayed with Kaiser under one insurance, I took the second insurance to explore difference medical providers. OK, Kaiser is not perfect. But considering my experiences with other healthcare providers, I decided to stay with Kaiser for the rest of my life, having been with Kaiser so far continuously for well over fifty years. Kaiser operates only in some of the Western States.

Apparently, some of you like flowers. So, I am attaching a few more from my walk this morning.

It is so windy that we will be in Kansas by dinner time.
Contractors are rehabing the shower after we had no water filtration system for nine months. It will be like new. In the meantime I pulled all Tabasco Pepper plants, harvested and will freeze them for hot sauce come winter once they are cleaned up. Yes, by Spring I will be up to speed on canning! SO will make adjusted shelving in the pantry to maximize space for canning jars.

I got up 4 hours early today and managed to arrive on time for a tour of the White House. They don't allow bags of any sort, so I had to take my ID/keys/phone in my pockets, and then I kept feeling like I was forgetting something since I didn't have a purse. It was enjoyable, the tour doesn't go to very much of it though. Certainly quite modest compared to a place like Versailles.

Tonight my building is having a Halloween Party. Then tomorrow I have a Dexascan appointment which today they sent an email mentioning not to wear zippers, buttons, or buckles. So I've ordered a pair of sweatpants off Amazon for same day delivery. I sure hope they fit! Oh gee, just occurred to me bra buckles might be included, I'm not sure though because I think the scan is just the lower spine area.

KP doctor's appointment this morning went well. My left foot has some hyper sensitive areas that sometimes feel like mildly sunburned skin. She performed some nerve testing on my left foot and then related I need not worry about neuropathy as long as symptoms remain as they've been. That it is more likely a result of my case of shingles a decade ago damaging my lower spine nerves slightly. Then received the shingles booster vaccination in my left shoulder.

Let's hope for a better future @hollydolly with senior medical care as many are hurting as you for reasons that societies can and should remedy.

Note, my last 7 working years plus 8 years since retiring have had the same KP doctor. I am so lucky as she is most excellent as are my other 3 specialists!

According to UK's NHS, at age 80(and up, I guess), I should be able to stand on one foot, hands on hips, for five seconds. I can. The article didn't explain why I should be able to do that.
it means if you can do that you're less likely to have falls which kill a lot of elderly... as you have excellent blalance...we're told about this exercise all the time..

Back from the vet. Bad news, doggie has a torn cruciate ligament. Surgery is an option with a 6-8 week recovery with cone and must be lifted to go potty. I can't do it. Other option is pain meds for an extended period until arthritis builds up to stabilize the knee. At age 14 years, we'll go that route. At least there will be less lifting and less chance of dropping her or falling.

Right now, she's fed, medicated and resting in her bed comfortably. I was a mess, but calm now.

So sorry to hear this. I hope doggy recovers.

Yesterday I got two weeks worth of pill cases refilled while sitting and talking with my son. Fell asleep before I could post about it.
Today I:
~Did laundry in the daytime (again) and replenished the supply containers I take downstairs for next time.
~Also to be ready for next time, I sorted more laundry. Been retired for almost 27 years and still haven't been able to catch up! 🫤
~Walked to Dunkin Donuts because I was feeling like having a pumpkin muffin. I stopped at the convenience store and got another Welsh's strawberry ice cream (no I didn't eat them together). The muffin was very good; ice cream was too. 😛
