Wife wanted the back yard cement pressure washed. (too many stains she said). Of course, that involved removing the carburetor and rebuilding it as I haven't used the washer for a couple of years. Got it working and went at it full bore. (it's a very large slab of cement). Took a bit, but, stains are gone for the most part. :)

I've been through that recently. I wasn't there at the clinic because l was ill. Looking back l should have been. I should have crawled on my hands and knees on the street to be there. He was euthanized and l wasn't there. I worry about what he was thinking. I loved him and he loved me. l count on seeing him again. I am not afraid of death.

RadishRose, l hope that the vet can do something for her to give her still more time to be with you.
Very sorry that you're missing your dear companion, Olivia. 💗

I went to an American History Museum today. The first users of fans and toasters must have been brave people, they didn't have safety cages around the blades or covers over the electric toasting wires. Just looking at them I had to hold my fingers safely curled up inside fists!
Old style toasters:

Then there was a display of a homemade little boat that some migrant arrived in 80 years ago, with the most alarming button that said push to smell what it was like to be a migrant on the boat. I didn't have the courage and moved on, but I saw another person do it, so I circled back and tried it. Just smelled like the ocean to me (thank goodness)!

I loved seeing the interesting photos!

There are clouds in the sky this morning! But only a 16% chance of rain at night. Pretty chilly at 44F.
Heat is on.

Trying to decide whether to go to Aldi's for the few things I need or setting up a delivery. Ah, maybe I'll go.

Doggie was much better yesterday. Put weight on that rear leg more often, but slept a lot due to pain med. Refreshed, she wanted to play at chasing a tossed toy (about 4-5 feet away), tail wagging and no panting! I guess she'll always have a limp now, but she's not a good candidate for surgery.

I feel like making some soup; whether beef & veggie with barley or chicken tortilla.

Have some fun today, all!
We've had some chilly nights here too, a ways north of you. Some of them below freezing, changing the looks of the plants still standing....
and Nearly all the tree branches are bare now, except the evergreens.

Thank goodness for those glorious evergreens!🌲🌲🌲
I've enjoyed watching the autumn breezes gradually send crispy, colored leaves wafting toward the ground for the past 2 weeks.

Very glad to hear that your pup felt good when able to be awake! Thanks for that update!

Thanks for your recent encouragements.
It helped.

you didn't have to do that.. sitting in that horrible place looking for advice. You could have asked me.. you know I know everything :sneaky::ROFLMAO:
And in addition, everything said here is very private and confidential as opposed to that citizens advice location. :giggle::LOL:

And even though we could PM, here, please post all advice inquiries, so you can receive many more angles of advice, too!😁😄😂

Our method did not work. It wouldn't raise it high enough. We ended up putting the jacks under each corner and then it lifted it. We then put super tough sheets of pink stuff underneath, and then lowered the slab onto them. It worked.

Now we can put a new threshold and trim on it.
That was very interesting!
I hope it lasts a long time!!!

I wished for a hardy perennial hibiscus, the type with large dish size flowers, to have planted in ground, outside my window this autumn, but could not found a way to have it done.

Oh well, maybe I will find a way, in the Spring.
@Kaila, I didn't know there is a hardy, perennial hibiscus! I wish I had a place to plant it in the ground, but no place for in-ground plants.

It looks great!

My cold is still hanging on so, wasted quite a lot of the morning moping about. When I got bored with that I decided to change the bedding and put everything in the washing machine. I also tidied up some shelves and and did some random chores including answering a couple of emails. Not the busiest day ever but I did get a lot more done than I expected to :)

No more sitting around tomorrow. There are things that need to be done, and I'm gonna do 'em. I gotta get off my arse!

Laundry
Sweep the cr@p off the top of the gutters, then clean the grime off them (not to worry...only outside my own back door)
Water the flowers; they are suffering

Today was a busy one. I went to McD's this morning to take advantage of the two for one egg and cheese biscuit deal (via their app). I ate one biscuit there and put the other one in the freezer. I also had decaf (light with Splenda) and it was good. After I finished my breakfast, I walked to the supermarket to pick up a few items. After putting them away, I emptied the dishwasher, reloaded it and made iced tea to take to the park. I wanted to stay busy before I left for the train because I almost talked myself out of going. Sitting down and relaxing may have enforced that laziness.

Once I got to the park, I ate my Uncrustable, had a few sips of the tea and headed over to the Hoboken side. I had forgotten my visor and the Hoboken side has more shade trees. About an hour and a half after eating the Uncrustable, I walked to Blue Eyes restaurant (named in honor of Frank Sinatra) to have their spumoni bomba. I ate looking out over the Hudson river and NYC views. I walked close to one and a half miles today. Once home and back in my comfy clothes, I ate some of the bean soup my son made, watched High Potential and fell asleep.

Taking GS back this morning. Woke up at 5:30 after an uninterrupted sleep so I jumped in the shower. Now I feel ready to go!
We had fun playing soccer in the yard last evening. I have an old volleyball that made a great size, weight for a two year old. He can dribble and his kicking aim is incredible. No wonder I slept good!
DH got a deer yesterday. First time hunting since 2019 and biggest buck he ever got. My happy surprise is that he's having it processed instead of doing it here. I always dreaded that! He said its too hot and he's getting too old to mess with it. Hallelujah!

I had my co opt closing yesterday afternoon, after 3 months of frustration/anger at this board for non communicating anything about this deal, it was tense. I didn't say 'Hi to Bob{chairman} instead ' Lets get this over with' he glared at me the whole time. When it ended, I said 'over the yrs we've had good &bad boards this is the worst ever'. Bob took exception to this, jumped out of his chair' said to me' Get the hell out of here, you're no longer a resident/shareholder'. I was stunned it became a verbal war between me and another board member,he showed me out the door,I was literally shaking I was so upset
Today, I'm doing something I truly love, dog sitting my 'buddy boy' Tage. Of course I'll be bringing my lunch so I can 'share' with him Marcia is picking me up around 10:15, she& friend are going to lunch&then a meeting won;t be back until mid afternoon

I'm relieved this is finally a done deal. I wish I could tell Bob to KMA!
