something to do with it???!!! Believe we had over an inch of rain, good, welp, let you get back to it......catch u later!!! ;):coffee:

Wow. Rain. We haven't had any in over a month.

Well sunny day today... I really need to take some stuff that I cleared from the spare room to the charity shop and or recycle centre. I've got half loaded into my car, and still got half to load.. if it'll take it all at once..

I have got to try and get the bedside chest of drawers down stairs by myself...

...looks like this . I was going to ask the electrician yesterday if he would give me a hand down with it, then I thought he might not be covered by insurance in case of an accident .. so I didn't want to embarass him by asking and him refusing....

I had a call from the delivery people to tell me my new sofa will be delivered at the weekend.

My leather sofas , have just a few hours before the end of the auction... 6 bids so far and 99 watchers.. I'm hoping they get sold by the end of the day for a little more than is the top bid so far ..and they can be gone before the new one arrives...

Happy halloween everybody....

It's so sad... just watching life play out in front of my eyes here outside my window..

New people moving in to a house across the road.. the removal van on the drive....

I think I may have mentioned the previous neighbours here in the past. They've been here even longer than me..probably 50 years or more and for the last 3 years we've watched the Husband an ex ambulance driver, battle cancer.. some weeks the paramedics would be called out to him 3 times .. and other times we'd see him very independantly taking a walk by himself slowly, painfully, but determined...but the paramedics were never far away from the house, there was always an emergency ..

Evetually just a couple of months ago he died..after a very brave battle.

His wife has now sold their property and moved on.. and for the first time in half a century at least.. the house has new owners...

Done and done. Sort of. Just waiting on the laundry.

Cleaned out the gutters and washed off the grime. DD wasn't happy about me being on the ladder. Tuff. Then I had to fire up the leaf blower to get all that nasty stuff outta the way.

Even wrestled the huge (7ftx9ft) patio umbrella and cleaned off all the mildew and bird poop. It's out there waiting for DD to get home and help me move it back to the teeny tiny patio. Getting it moved was a piece of cake; moving it back? Too tired.

Watered the flowers.

Laundry is laundering as we speak.

Oh, my aching back:(

I tell you I know the big patio Umbrella is hard to handle.. mine always seems to be top heavy, so I struggle with lifting it back again into place...

Hats off to you for cleaning your own gutters, I always get a man in to do it... but you've got to watch your back.. its too high a price to pay for doing your own stunts...:D

What I do need is someone to come and clear the top of the concrete porch of Moss.... the o/h always did it.. but now of course he's not here.. so I'll have to get someone in to do it..

I'm so sorry you're having such pain Hawdon! Could the rain have anything to do with it? I wish I could make it better. I'm glad you didn't lose tree limbs or get any damage.

Well it's now 7.30pm, the halloween trick-a-treating has been in full flow for the last 2 hours...parents with children as young as babies all over the road....knocking on every door that has a pumpkin on the doorstep to say they're taking part.

Not me, I don't open the door after dark to anyone.. but nobody knocks anyway because I don't put a Pumpkin out.

I don't want to sound like a bit of an old grinch, but I was watching them for a little while all going door to door, and it seems to have turned into legalised begging , becauseonly about 2% were in any kind of fancy dress... shame!

Well my furnture auction has come to an end and despite the high amount of watchers and the 6 bids it hasn't reached anywhere near it's reserve, so I'll have to relist it and start again at a higher price...it's pity because it's going to make it awkward to make space for the new sofa, in the meantime

Not much special today. More leaves mulched and picked up of course. Sprayed some electrical deoxidizing stull in some outdoor sockets and plugs (outside wall sockets, electric lawn mower cord between mower and battery pack, etc.). Checked outside lights for Halloween. Washed a lot of produce bought yesterday. Came in here to experience the usual rectal insect infestation.

@Kaila, I didn't know there is a hardy, perennial hibiscus! I wish I had a place to plant it in the ground, but no place for in-ground plants.

Thanks for posting that great and accurate photo!
Look at that dark wine colored foliage and the copious large blooms. That would brighten any day to look out at.
It needs a large enough space, and someone to plant it, in, I think, full sun.
