@hawkdon There's almost always a nap on my list :D

We had a little rain last night. It's gone now and very warm at 59. That might be the high temp for today, but the sun's supposed to come out so I'm gonna try to get out there and finish up in the garden...at least finish up what I started yesterday. It depends on whether my "energy allocation" lasts long enough.

It's noon 9 deg c ... another sunny day.. but chilly.. ....last one again now before the rain tomorrow.

I need to go out and post some parcels... at the Post offfice.. but often my daughter rings on her lunch hour on a Tuesday.. or Wednesday, so I'm waiting in to catch her call first, then I'll go and get those things done...

Avoided writing here as I don't wish to bring others down to my level of depression. Weeks now, I wonder if I ever will have joy and hope again. Just going through the motions of living.
Pepper, are you on anti depressants ?.. no need to answer such a personal question.. but its clear to me you need to see a Doctor.. you cannot go on living every day under such a black cloud !🤗

I haven’t slept a night clear through for decades, these days I sleep in shifts.

I heard thunder and had appreciable rain in the wee hours. We really need rain as we are in the Level Four zone in the drought monitor.

It is still 42(F) with a high of52(F). Cloudy so that means damp.

Now that my phone charges again, I left it on so the alarm would go off at 5:15 AM. I don’t need an alarm when w3 have more daylight, but I can’t be late feeding The Big Guys. I hate the vet calls them “geriatric “ even if that’s what they are☹️☹️

Rusty is now 30+ - this was back in both of our Glory Days when he was one tough trail horse.

28-ish Duncan back in his Glory Days with his teenage rider. I am told Duncan was in the blues more than he wasn’t.

I finished up the leaves that were left from yesterday and just in time because I could feel my energy allocation getting used up ;). Too bad we can't just plug ourselves in when we start wearing down🔌.

There's stuff on the floor begging to be vacuumed, but it has to wait while I rest up from the garden activity. Maybe I'll cook and crumble up the sausage for Thursday's muffins. That can wait, too, because I don't wanna wear out before lunch.

@hawkdon You've probably already tried melatonin, but if not, it's what I use. Two 10mg tablets about an hour before bed. It usually works and doesn't interact with my bp or cholesterol meds.

It is cold and dreary here southern tier NY but temps will get higher today but maybe some snow on thanksgiving.

I got all my food shopping done yesterday after I had a Great medical check up and no more med appointments until next spring.

Friday I am getting oil change and any winterization needs done on my car. I will go to TOPs market again to check out any good food sales as we all in the boonies prepare for rough weather in Jan and Feb but someone told me El Nina out west will give us mild winter here.

Does your post office not offer a collection service? My son uses this all the time here, very useful since the nearest post office closed and the mobile office is somewhat unreliable.

It looks like frost on a neighbor's roof! I do not like cold weather. Izzi understands and has curled up on my arm. More coffee please!
Some light yard work, harvest the last Habaneros, maybe tackle the first Christmas cookies. A slow day for sure. I did not sleep well.
Tomorrow it will be combat training aka supermarket, tractor supply for scratch to stretch bird food. SO will shut down his office by 13:00 which means mini vacation with early hot tub and probably happy hour and nibbles instead of dinner and a movie.
Life is good!

My apologies. I've never heard of a smokeless zone.
@stretch5881 , here in New England, we're a lot more crowded than you are, so burning was banned many years ago unless you have a permit. Pollution, fire danger etc.

I do remember as a child, neighbors raking leaves into piles at the side of the road and burning them. The smell of burning leaves was synonymous with autumn.

Once, at age 11, decided to burn leaves myself; raked up a pile but on the lawn, not the side of the road, went into the house for matches and lit it on fire. My mother didn't realize until it was too late and they were both mad at me and deplored the burned, black circle on the lawn.

Next year, the circle was greener and more lush than than the rest of the lawn so it still didn't match.

no need to apologise... :)
I can have a bonfire but I have to be careful what I burn on it.. and it has to be after a certain time.. and if it annoys the neighbours they can report me... so I have an incinerator, but I just use it for items that might just take an hour or less to burn

Smoke control areas: the rules

yes but not permitted in an area which is designated a smokeless zone

I remember lawns and fields getting burned too. The old ones said it was good for the ground.
Here you have to have a burning permit and check for fire danger, except when there is snow cover. I always call county dispatch when I'm going to light up a controlled burn. Otherwise people driving by like to call 911 and the fire dept. scrambles for nothing. We have a scanner and know people on the fire dept. so we hear about all the false calls.

It's racing towards 4pm now.. and it's starting to get dark ...

I got to the Post office with my 2 parcels.. it's a very tiny PO.. standing room for only 4 people to queue.... and when I got there , there was 2 men with 50 boxes to post...... and they were having to pile them up on the customer floor area, because of no space in their stock room...so it was a pretty long wait, by the time they were finished there was a long queue out the door... I have no idea what was in these boxes.. and it's extremely rare for anyone to take thta amount of stuff to this little PO>.. usually they would take it to the Main PO in town...

I drove to a town west of here which is the nearest place I can get my tyres inflated.. got there, wasn't working.. so I drove to the next town.. and theirs wasn't working either, so I just came home again after picking up a few things from the supermarket

Good Tuesday, November 26th, my friends!

Two older grandchildren spent the night from Sun to Mon. They wake up early and requested pancakes for breakfast, so my usual early morning time slot for SF was greatly abbreviated.

Will have TGS early tomorrow through late Thursday afternoon (pre-TG dinner), so will be busy.

I'll have to see what interesting adventures spin out in my life today and will report back.

Hope you all have a lovely day!
