PA has Sunday hunting, the first Sunday following opening day for deer hunting.
I think wild turkey has a Sunday hunting date , also.
Not sure about the rest of game seasons.

Youngest son had got up early, to go hunting.
He left Monday,, first time with out getting a deer.

We have had enough sNow to fall that the ground is covered.
Hubby went out & sat in his tree stand,,,no deer.

I got the guest rooms bedding washed & dried.

Tried new cookie recipe,, too many chopped pecans & butter brickie chips.
May try chopped pecans & brickie chips with another recipe.

I have one Christmas card that goes to England,,, I better get it mailed, soon.

I didn't want to write "Last card!" in them...seemed tacky
Forget them thinking it's tacky - more likely they'll worry that you have a terminal illness. Besides which, between this December and next you may decide you enjoy sending those card.

My mom sent out over a hundred cards a year. She'd start writing them out in early September - did everything but stamp them, lest a family member stumble over them and "helpfully" post them before she was ready.

She always mailed them out the day before Thanksgiving. One year our postman told us had long been an annual contest at his post office for who had the house that sent and received the most cards. He said thanks to her, he always won.

When Mom died, several people my age came to the funeral. They told me that when they were children they knew Christmas was really coming when they got the first card - and that card was always the one she sent.

I guess what I'm saying is that the Christmas/holiday cards we send may mean more than we imagine to the recipients. Just knowing you're being thought about - and cared enough about for someone to make the effort to send a card? Well, that's more than enough to make a lot of people's day.

this is something that always needs correcting..goodness knows where people get the idea that it rains all the time in the UK... for everyone's information..a couple of facts..
It rains 22 more days per year in Miami Florida than it does in London.... in Sydney Australia, it rains 38 more days per year than it does in London...
In Florida the average summer rainfall is 6.7 inches compared to London just 2.5 inches
London doesn't even make the top 15 rainiest cities in the US alone.... New York for example has Double the amount of rain that London gets..
In fact London has 259 days per year where it doesn't rain... and only an average of 10 rainy days in the whole of summer!
Go easy on me Ms. Dolly, you're making me feel ignorant. Hard to imagine the summer rain in Florida is 6.7", it seems like we get that much in one week!

Well got up earlier, and had a GREAT sleep last night, which is very unusual... Went to the pharmacy to get my meds, then to the health store to get my essential vitamins, then get a few groceries, and noticed gas was 10 cents cheaper than where we were. So filled the truck, and she took $80 for a quarter tank, but she's full now... Then came home, and started to build the dishwasher cabinet... Tomorrow, I need to screw the countertop down, and a few little things, and it's done...Now to do the backsplash, probably start Thursday or Friday... and then the kitchen will be complete... Thinking of maybe putting a cabinet around the refrigerator, but haven't convinced myself yet... Tomorrow we are supposed to get 10 - 15cm of snow...Oh, joy...
$80 for a quarter tank seems like a lot, how big is your tank? We're paying around $3.25 - $3.50 for regular unleaded (U.S. gallon) what you are paying per Imperial gallon or per liter?

Rich we are paying too much for gasoline as it is...$1.36 a litre, there are almost 4 litres in a gallon, so that would be here in Canada, so that equals almost $5.44 a gallon, roughly... My gas tank is 130 litre... so that is about 32.5 gallons... If I figured that out right...

I went to the bank this morning because I needed to get into my safe deposit box. I took out more checks and copies of my will and living will so I can write updates on them and mail them off to the attorney's office.

Then I went to the supermarket. After I put the food away, I had a snack and finished an episode of Abbott Elementary. I wrote a check for our HOA dues, dropped it in the community mailbox and took a couple of recyclables to the garbage area.

$1.36 per liter would be (per ChatGPT)-
U.S. gallon: $5.14
Imperial gallon: $6.18
That's a lot, I think here in the states only California is paying that much. Either way, it's way too much considering the multi billion dollar profits the oil companies are enjoying.

Here in the uk, the chepaest unleaded is approx 1.38 per litre ..equal to $1.75 US

Super unleaded costs more per litre..

Cheapest unleaded .. 95 octane ....4.5 litres in an Imperial gallon... =£6.21 UK sterling . which is equal to $7.87 US

Mornflakes Salted Caramel crisp ,which ,despite the name ,is actually largely oat based.
But the company insist on a minimum order of 12 packs..not sure where I’m going to put them.
Update..I am delivery number 66 and it should be here between 1423 and 1523…very precise!
I've not heard of those before. Did you find somewhere to store them ?:D

A bargain compared to here. Running about $1.60 a litre, considerably more for the premium that we use in our car. Being that holiday/ski/tourist season will be starting, the prices will go up.

I have…I have less space on one of my preparation areas…and I’ve discovered a different part of Morn Flakes website which means that next time I can mix and match with other of their oat based products.
They must be in stores somewhere but apart from Home Bargains I have never seen them anywhere.
Morn Flakes are based in Crewe.

I finished making reservations for my major 2025 vacations.

In addition to the November 2025 trip to Costa Rica that I had already reserved, now I have a reservation for a trip to Italy in late April/early May 2025.

I feel like I should enjoy vacation planning, but I'm so anxious about making a mistake (like choosing a bad tour, buying plane tickets for the wrong date, worry that I'm not leaving enough (or too much) time between plane arriving and first sight-seeing place, etc. etc.), that I sit for hours cringing and dithering before pressing a button to purchase/commit.

Maybe tomorrow the happy-anticipation feelings will show up.

StarSong, you're right! You know, I have saved Christmas cards for years. Hence my block decorations and future mini boxes made from old Christmas cards. 😉
When I look through them with the intention of cleaning out, I see relative's long passed greetings with signatures and I put them back in the box. I'm down to two shoeboxes. One for cards that are dear to me, one for crafts.
If your mother sent me a card I'm sure I'd have kept at least one or even the series to remind me of her.🤗

There is a man we were stationed with on our first assignment stationed overseas in the seventies. We have exchanged cards every year since then. He sends the same theme of card every time, a humorous one. We don't even know each other, really, but we send a greeting every year from across the country. One day a card won't arrive from one of us. That will be a sad day.
I have every card he sent. When I'm gone my kids will be scratching their heads. 😉🎄

How cold is it here? 21F. That's pretty cold. I hope we aren't expecting wind today.

DD and her posse are going to get their passports today. Me? Pffft. I'm too old to be bothered picking up stakes and moving to wherever at the drop of a hat. I'll take my chances and hope they don't decide to stone everybody over the age of 30, like in the book from back in the 60s (the name of which I don't remember).

The braided rugs didn't get fixed yesterday because I didn't feel like rummaging through the stuff in the garage for fishing line. Um. Fishing line because it's invisible and strong. I have a rug needle. Maybe today.

Today might be a good day to make Spritz. The heat from the oven will help keep it warm in here.

I woke up around 6:30 looked out the window, the snow has arrived here in the city, I'd say about 3 inches
.The sidewalks by the our driveway were shoveled/driveway was plowed, but the sidewalk out front wasn't shoveled which didn't surprise me. I knew where it was, started to walk halfway but it became too windy so I turned around and came back in temp was 28
My plan this morning is to re arrange my bed room closet which is a tight, due to the washer/ dryer are in there as well. The washer is on the bottom/dryer on top of it. I've tossed some things on the shelves where my clothes hang need to see what's there
The rest of my day finish my book,my NYT wasn't delivered once again due to weather,it came yesterday

@RadishRose That one's similar, but the one I'm thinking of requires stoning of people on their 30th birthday. Sylvia Plath, Shirley Ann Grau, Shirley Jackson...none of them, but another author who wrote stuff just as dark as those three.

Well. The braided rugs. I had a rug needle and broke the darned thing taking it out of the package so using a different needle. I couldn't find the fishing line but found some invisible thread. Same stuff but not as thick and a pain in the como se llama to thread. Oy.

My minor right femur tissue strain seems to be quickly healing. Will have to restrain myself from possibly re-injuring it again as I would have otherwise today or tomorrow likely driven up for my first ski day this season. Have a new book to read keeping me occupied.

Bought a well reviewed TJ package of Broccoli, Slaw, and Kale Salad, then ate half the large 11 ounce package. Was super chopped up and obviously healthy due to the mix of vegetables. But won't purchase it again as did not like the slightly sweet, tarragon-scented vinaigrette dressing. For lunch today will try the other half and substitute the dressing I'll try to overwhelm with some blue cheese.
