Ack - I'm six pages behind. TGS is on his way over, no time to catch up so I'll just jump in where this thread is now - hope everyone is well and having enjoyable holidays.

We've dealt with bouts of non-serious illnesses among family and friends (mostly colds, flu and stomach bugs), but with the exception of our Christmas afternoon/evening celebration, all events went on as scheduled. Lots of catching up, laughing, eating and general merriment. Family Christmas was moved to January 4th so we're not done yet.

None of my family does anything to speak of on NYE/NYD. We all hunker down in our homes, letting the drunks, stoners and sleep deprived to battle it out among themselves.

Experienced two days of what felt like morning sickness!
Gads, perish the thought!
Ten hrs of great sleep last night and feel fine again.

Am not bragging here, but ten hours of sleep AFTER 30+ YEARS of an average of 4-5 hours a night is my miracle.
The sleep change began one year ago Dec 26. As if someone turned a switch.

My doctors are totally mystified.

Thanks a lot @hawkdon:(. I was gone to the store when you posted and missed the biscuits and gravy, dammit. Oh, well, I'd already had avocado toast for breakfast anyway.

Yanno how I complain about going grocery shopping when DGD is along. Oy. Why do I punish myself? I swear that when I win the lottery I'm gonna buy a car. If I get lost going somewhere and they find me in a cornfield in Kansas, tuff luck. I just want to go somewhere by myself, especially if it's for groceries. Actually, I'd like to get in a car and drive myself anywhere. Alone!

Anyway, I got to wear my new jacket. It's not cold outside, but it's damp and clammy, and it's always colder than cold in Walmart. New jacket was just the ticket. Yay.

Now I gotta put away my Christmas decorations (both of them) and wash the dishes and vacuum. I don't wanna be bothered. I've got a bad case of grumpy/crabby:mad:

I put away my Christmas "decor" too: the 15 Christmas cards we received displayed on the top of our bookcase. That was it.
It is OK to be grumpy/crabby! Grumpy/crabby happens! As long as it doesn't become a lifestyle.
Why does grocery shopping with DGD cause you angst?

Well the time with grandkids and daughter has been great so far. Older granddaughter spent Friday night with me as a Christmas treat.. we went out to “Cheddars” restaurant for supper (not fast food but not the Ritz either—food was ok). As we walked up to the entrance, granddaughter commented on the architecture, “it looks like if a Mexican restaurant married a Huddle House” 😂

Yesterday we went to the most promising properties my daughter had viewed with the real estate agent. She ended up putting down a bid on a three bedroom/ two bathroom house and her bid was accepted last night. So we are very excited about that.

Raining today so not sure what we’ll get up to after church but we’ll ss
Congrats to daughter on winning the bid. Hope it all goes well. It's so exciting!

Because she dawdles, has no plan and no list and just wanders the store back and forth between aisles when she thinks of something else she wants/needs. Then there's the checkout. I kept trying to tell her that I needed to keep my stuff separate so that I could use up the balance on my Kaiser card. She just couldn't seem to grasp what I was getting at. I also had a jug of kitty litter that I paid for myself. Just let me check my own stuff out, pay, be done, sit down. But noooo...

When I finally made myself understood, then she and DD stood there waiting, waiting, waiting for me to pay, bag, collect my receipt and my change. "We're not rushing you..." BS. They were like vultures waiting for me to finish. What? I'm dotty in my eld and need them to breathe down my neck to make sure I do everything right? It's not like I never used a checkout terminal before. Yanno...like before DGD was born.

What could get done from in the door to out the door takes forfreakingever when it could be done in about a third of the time it takes when I have to go with them.

I'm gonna run🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ away from home. I swear. They'll just think my mind is gone, and I've started wandering. Nope. I ran away!

I'm cooking an impulse buy from Sam's. At the holidays we bought two boxes of cranberry and stuffing filled turkey breasts to roast if needed. Well, not needed so we will eat them. Took a few to the beach and they were a hit with oldest GD.
Anyway, the ingredients list is long and treacherous. I'm going to grin and bear it because they are yummy. DH needs some non home cooked food once in a while. 😀

I LOVE reading this! Identify with it entirely! Am sorry you have to deal with having to be driven to the store! I worry about things like this - if it ends up happening to me - as well.

Shopping with them sounds like me and my DH. He goes with a list, like he is on a space mission!! In the store, zip, zip, zip...ready to check out! And there I am, wandering, wandering....lol.

Then he stands there watching me check out! Like I have never done this before, either. I can see him so impatient that he is about to rip the next item out of my hand and scan FOR me!

Funny thing is we do this to each other!! IF I am on a mission he isn't. And when HE is, I am not!! LOLOL

It's a comfortable, cloudy, dreary day Sunday here.
I can say I have no plans. Some promises to put off though.
Its wet out from last night rains. Football is boring too.
We watched part of a season of "Outlander" last night.
Stayed up till near 2 am when the episode ended.
The cat is sitting atop a Box with a Pellet Grill inside.
If we were in Asia I could let Her try it out ! ... :coffee: ...

I really should try to help straighten the place up.
Procrastination is really a great topic to think on ! ...... :coffee: ......

Another cup and I'll be ready to try that. ............ :coffee: ............

@Georgiagranny ,,
Ever bake an Angel Food ,one. step mix.
Using crushed pineapple instead of the liquid recipe says to use?

Looking at my cake mess, either I didn't stir the batter enough.
So flavor was pineapple with pecans.
Icing was confectioner's, sugar & cream cheese.

This morning looked for one step Angel Food cake mix at Walmart couldn't find any.

Butting in: I've made one. They are easy and delicious!

@hearlady ,,, yes,, even my mess of making it,, we've eaten most of it.

The recipe card I have for it has several different flavors suggested.

When hubby's parents held Family reunion at their house.
Fancied it up with icing... some lady chased me down wanting the recipe.

I think recipe was on the box for awhile?
