I appreciate your concern, the same one my son has. I have many different conditions, different doctors, under the umbrella of my hospital. I am being closely guarded and cared for. I have doctors I trust but will be changing my PC doc for unrelated reasons.
Medications have been cut out over the years, sometimes with disastrous results. I feel comfortable in this current medication "regime."
Heh. I accidentally took my dogs Incurin (estrogen) tablet and called poison control to see if I should worry. They said "No" in a bored voice. I'll bet they have stories. The bad news is I took the wrong medication tonight while getting ready for bed
The good news is I'm now protected from heartworms and fleas for the next three months

You are so right. I feel sorry for us seniors who just take what is prescribed without doing research. I had an endocrinologist prescribe me an old fen-fen drug and Lexapro, saying they could be taken together. Not so.I had a friend that was on 15 medications. Some were to remedy the side effects of other medications. She finally found a doctor that was willing to listen and gradually eliminate many of them. She ended up feeling much better.
I have seen older people in my family taking too many pills. I read that once you start taking more than 4 it’s a serious concern. I am very careful when a doctor wants to prescribe something and I ask many questions and do my own research in order to make a decision. I think that’s a big problem for seniors and detrimental to their health.
We have to be our own health advocates. You are so right. I feel sorry for us seniors who just take what is prescribed without doing research. I had an endocrinologist prescribe me an old fen-fen drug and Lexapro, saying they could be taken together. Not so.
Also, not good to take w/my heart condition. That's just one example.
I'm sure it happens more than not, and some people probably think they're supposed to feel that bad, not knowing any better.
Hi Chic, I'm stopping because the pain/swelling on my right foot is gone. I take Aleve once in awhile when the arthritis in my partial right knee flares up SueWhy will you be stopping Aleve for your ankle if it's not too intrusive to ask?![]()
