Wasn't there supposed to be a massive offensive this spring by either side? Still waiting.
Then people think because Ukraine is getting NATO tanks it will yield immediate results. People have to be trained on use and maintenance. Use includes learning the tank and tactics it's best suited for, not necessarily how they want to use them. Same for other weapon systems.
Also there were reports of an ammo dump that was hit/blown up with depleted uranium rounds used to bust armor. Only a few reports including increased radiation reading for the local area. Just by coincidence when the Russians found they were being sent depleted uranium rounds they said they are a danger to the public which they are. So are the consequences being covered up or being 'blown up' by Russia?
First thing that goes in war is the truth.
Ukrainian military men began training on tanks last year, and tanks were delivered earlier this year.
US supplied HIMARS and MANPADS have been in use in Ukraine since around last Christmas.
Ukrainian military men and women began training on air fighters this year (in the UK and Germany, I believe). Planes are slated for delivery this fall.
Russia fired missiles at the dead (but still dangerous) Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near Pripyat, Ukraine, and it was reported they used some small nuclear missiles late last year while firing at areas north of Kyiv and near Ukrainian's border with Poland. Poland confirmed that information. There have been no reports of Russia using nuclear weapons since then, and Ukrainian and NATO soldiers are densely protecting the Chernobyl area.
Russia denies using any nuclear weapons at all, saying that they did use nuclear missiles but they were not armed with a nuclear payload.
It's widely reported (and video recordings confirm) that Russia keeps using old Soviet war strategies and this is why they've lost so many troops, armed personnel carriers, and tanks. They are, however, using extremely destructive incendiary bombs (i.e., Napalm) and very effective war drones provided to them by Iran. Unfortunately (and criminally), they are targeting residential/civilian areas.
After defending the city of Bakhmut for a year, Ukrainian troops finally retreated this month. There is nothing left of Bakhmut to defend. Russia completely destroyed the city. Their estimated loss in the Battle for Bachmut is 100,000 mostly very young Russian soldiers. Quite dismaying as Bachmut was of no real strategic value. In size and military importance, you could compare it to Bismark, North Dakota.
As Zelenskyy put it last week, "Bachmut now exists only in our hearts."
