How Times have changed…

Times have certainly changed Pappy. I didn't have to use the library much because my parents bought me an encyclopedia set from a door to door salesman. That's another thing that's changed. With the advent of finding practically everything you need to know on the internet, encyclopedias have become obsolete.

We walked to our grammar schools and high school. I was blessed to live only a couple of blocks away from my high school. The icing on the cake was that in my junior or senior year (forgot which), my last class was "study" which meant I didn't have to be there, so I got home early.

Isn’t that the truth Diva? I bought my kids a set of encyclopedias, which at the time, I couldn’t afford. Now, the smart watch I wear has all the info I need at my fingertip.

I live in deer country. Each year I watch 5-8 fawns grow up. In the dead of winter, I see them walking around in -0 degree weather as if it was normal. I guess to them it is. They have to live till the next summer to know how bad the winter was.

I grew up when most Mothers were home and not working at a company just for their husbands and kids. Living in the City most nights we played outside even at night with all the moms watching us. They surely were the good old days.I didn't have a bike all the girls rode on the handle bars of the boys bikes.

Using the inflation calculator on Google this is $1373.08 in today's money. How much is a 3 day hospital stay these days? Seems quite the bargain to me.
