Heh, aliens?
They're intelligent beings
When they ride past earth, they lock their doors
Personally i suspect there may be quarantine signs about us at edge of galaxy. "Caution advised especially near 3rd planet from sun. Researchers must apply for permits to land there."

Absolutely try to communicate with the being.
After establishing communication, I would ask if I could go with him.
I'd follow him. I'd go with him in a second's decision.
Can you imagine how exciting that would be?

Aliens in my back yard are about the last thing I would or might worry about? I'm more worried about real things; like bad drivers, noise in the city and where I am going to move to get away from it all. Aliens? What me worry?
Packerjohn- this comment is not all on the topic of aliens but first- a comment about getting away from the noise of the city. When I was searching for a new place to live, I found a wonderful place out in the far corners of the state away from the city. I imagined how quiet and wonderful so I made an appointment to see the place. It was moderately nice, but before I left I noticed a man leaving the building. Not sure why I noticed him. Anyway, after I left the property, I saw that same man standing at one of the few lights in the town holding a help-me sign and pan handling for money. You just can’t get away from human behavior now as there are few constraints. I am sure folks dropping money into his hands thought he was homeless. The property was nice but you could hear through the walls and I imagined the utility bills would be high out there. And not enough emergency personnel in a small town. Back to the aliens though- I would want to know if we were being harvested for food, why else would they be here?

I was just thinking about this the other day. I honestly don't know what I'd do. I agree with @feywon that its appearance might have something to do with my reaction, although I realize that small and innocent looking would not necessarily mean they are harmless. Maybe I'd just react the way I did when I saw the entity staring at me while I was primping in the bathroom mirror a few years ago. I didn't turn around or make sudden movements. I just stared back via the mirror until he floated (seemingly in a sideways motion) into our studio. BTW, he was not transparent and was in no way threatening, so I wasn't frightened.

Feywon and I know a man who claims to have met and interacted with aliens here on earth a couple of times. He said looked human. He says that he can always tell, however, that they are not human and they have admitted to being aliens during their conversations. He has maintained in the 16 years or so that we have been online friends that he is an abductee. He no longer fears aliens.
