I came here to share information and to learn from others that have gone through some of the issues that we have as we grow older. I’m a “young 72”

I always do my best to keep a positive and happy attitude and I love other people that do the same.

I’m willing to help my fellow seniors. If I have some valuable information I’ll be glad to share and I hope you will too.

My Hobbies are Texas Ancient History, especially stone artifacts and information left behind by them. I’m a lifetime Dallas Cowboy fan / Astros (Colt .45 fan)!

I live Between Boerne and Helotes Texas (in the first foothills of the Texas Hill Country)!

Medical issues are stemmed from Psoriatic Arthritis and most all of the immune diseases related to that.
I was started in Enbrel and after about 8 injections (and just as I was feeling some relief from the biologic) I had a case of Shingles (and you don’t want that!)
So I immediately went to my family Dr. and we started an antiviral. That saved me from a huge outbreak of sores and spreading of the disease.
Enbrel was stopped and after the neuropathy settled down I am now vaccinated for the Shingles, regular flu, Omnicron, pneumonia etc.
Now I am ready to start back on Enbrel and see if I can calm down some of the immune related diseases (many for much of my life).
if you are suffering from a disease like psoriatic arthritis, I would love to hear from you and of course any positive outcomes that you had. In return I will be glad to share my experiences and things that could help you if you’re in need of help.

All of my arthritis is osteo, different animal I think. Just had double knee replacement, 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Not sure if it's fixed yet, but so far so good.

I don't have your specific neuropathy, but I have a lower neck pinched nerve. It affects me 24/7 except when I sleep about 5-6 hours at night. I am on 1200mg of Gabapentin and use Medical Marijuana for pain relief also. Old and getting older....really from birth, it's now what our bodies are doing. Many on the forum have medical issues and are willing to share their experiences. Probably "you can find anything you want on the Senior Forum

Be interested to hear how the readjustment goes, (had a hip replacement in January last year.....follow up with the surgeon on Monday).....my knees have been shot forever, (ran a marathon, with tensor bandages on, in early 1984, but my running days are long gone), although they haven't (yet) reached the point where replacements become 'mandatory'. (As my grandmother used to say when I was a kid "No sense. no feeling".)
