I don't like proving Murphy's Law.

So far, in the last two weeks, my furnace needed a $480 part, plus labor; my car air conditioner isn't working, the part is on order; the knobs on the left of my stove aren't working; the parts are on order, my electric shaver needs a new head, part on order, my mechanical wall clock is in the shop. Yeah, most of my stuff is old enough to vote, but why does it all have to break at one time?
I don't like proving Murphy's Law. How about you?

My sister's name when she got married is Murphy. And believe me when I say her life has been very hard. She lost her husband when he was only 54yrs old. He was a wonderful man and I loved him like a brother. She raised her 4 children alone. They are all grown up and married, but they also had hard lives. One of her sons passed in October at 53yrs old. The best thing that ever happened to her husband was marrying my sister. That was the first time in all his life that someone loved him. His parents didn't and neither did his brothers and sisters. I used to tease my sister that they should change their last name because Murphy didn't bring them any luck. I still remember at my Brother-in-law's funeral, my husband really broke down and my Brother-in-laws's sister laughed at my husband for taking her brother's death too hard.

I became familiar with Murphy the day my lawnmower wouldn't start. I went to the shed to get fuel for it and the container had leaked, which is a fire hazard, so I put my cigarette out to clean all that up, but I guess it wasn't all the way out because then I had a fire to put out. An hour later I got the electric weedeater to cut the lawn with, but it choked up, so I turned it upside down to get it un-choked but I forgot to unplug it and somehow it un-choked itself and cut 3 slices into my forearm.

So I sat down and had a couple shots of whiskey and let the yard go till the next weekend.

I hate when things go in a series.

We've had that happen a few times over the years, and back then we were broke, so it hit us that much harder.

I know you have all heard of Murphy's Law, but have you ever heard of COLD'S LAW?

it's a selection of shredded veggies with a tangy dressing!
haha!

I don't know where i heard this. It may have even been on this forum! If so, Sorry, Didn't mean to steal it!
Hahahaha. I so didn’t expect that.
That’s hilarious! 😂🤣

I seem to have some kind of Murphy’s law enforcer I call my Money Gremlin. It senses whenever I have any extra $ and makes me put them under the hood of my car. It also used to divert it between the car, the Vet and the Dentist, but the pets are at the Rainbow Bridge, the teeth are bought and paid for, so now it still goes after the car and sends me for tests with high copays.Never leaves me with any more than a few $ to get something enjoyable.

It does seem to happen all at once. The pick up started making a noise and running rough a couple of weeks ago...cost me $500. The next week, the other car started making a noise and the air conditioner stopped working. Then last week, I broke my eye glasses.
Here's hoping you see a good long stint now, Jeweltea, where you don't have to fix or replace anything.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. 🤞
