I have 41 pairs of socks....

Lots of socks but came up empty looking for a pair of pantyhose.
haha.. that's where I beat you Lee... I haven't worn tights in about 20 years.. but in my drawers ( just in case)... I have 4 pairs of new tights in a pack which has never been opened.. I don't think I'd get into them if I needed them now...

I'm sure both the above posters are correct about jeans, even though their views differ, because what actually suits one does not necessarily suit another for a variety of reasons, not just their own preference, (Mary Quant eat your heart out, fashion advice from someone almost devoid fashion sense or maybe even taste hey!:rolleyes::censored:).

Pens....that's another thing I have way too much of.....

Pens and diaries...loads...

I journal in longhand most days , so my completed diaries fill a large snap on box in the attic... i have a diary in my bag at all times to jot down the events while I'm out and about if I stop off for a coffee...

In my wardrobe you will find at least a hundred Aloha shirts, or themed shirts. My wife made them all. This particular one she made for me to wear to a Halloween Ball. Most of the fellows went dressed like Dracula although one brave soul did a good take of Frankenfurter.
This shirt, with white trousers, a wizard's hat and broomstick one a prize for originality.

This one depicts travel in the golden age. Ocean liners, The Orient Express and beautiful cars.

Now this is more in the Aloha keeping, pin-ups and "woodie" cars.

No collection is complete without: "Birds of Paradise." A truly lovely shirt.

Traditional floral Aloha shirt, it can be worn with so many styles of outfits.
That's a cross section of my shirt collection, I'm only allowed five pictures so you are spared the other 95.

I especially like the one in the bottom photo. Sharp looking, and yes, I'd say it's pretty versatile. That would look great with slacks, jeans, cargo pants, shorts.... Any kind of pants but yoga, I guess. :)

I have too many tops/t-shirts for everyday wear. When I see something "cute" I buy it - bad habit!

And I also have too many socks, manly those therapeutic socks infused with aloe vera ... oh, so soft when they are new.

cute socks... (y) you reminded me of my tops ( cami's and Tees... I'm the same, far too many )... I'm going to go to the drawer and I'll count them. I don't think there's a colour that I don't have.... yet I only wear the same dozen.... some still have their tags still on from a couple of years ago

I probably have 25 pairs of socks though I rarely wear them unless it's cold or I'm wearing boots (in which cases I wear knee socks that I've purchased for myself) or sneakers (when I wear those little short socks).

Nearly all in my drawer are summer socks - those little ones that poke out just above the top of my sneaker when I put them on, then promptly slide down to bunch up at the middle of my foot within 30 minutes.

Most have been gifts from my children, who apparently discount the fact that they've almost never seen their mother wearing socks. In the house I'm usually barefoot, and for 9 months of the year I wear flip-flops outdoors. Go figure.

My mom passed away 11 years ago. The last 5 years she had a colostomy. She was always making sure her under garments didn't have an odor or were stained, because of this she purchased so many pairs of underpants.
When she passed she had at least 12 unopened packages of 4 each.
I take the same size and now I probably have a lifetime supply.

A few years ago I checked Marie Kondo's book out of the library: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KK0PICK/ref=dp_kinw_strp_1

While she's waaaay too OCD for me and some of her advice felt downright weird, general pointers were helpful. When our kitchen was remodeled I took everything out and put it all in boxes. Upon unpacking I seriously considered how many spatulas, wooden spoons, pots of various sizes, etc., I really needed and wanted. Discarded old spices, canned goods, and foods we'd never eat but somehow acquired and shifted to the backs of cabinets.

I've done the same thing with towels, sheets, table linens and the like.

Clothing is harder to purge because there are some things I wear once a year or less, but sure don't want to have to buy them again. Strapless bras, pantyhose, tights, dressy clothing, and Christmas & Halloween themed clothing fall into that category.

For the past seven years (since I stopped eating meat and most dairy) my weight dropped and hasn't strayed more than 3 pounds up or down. I'm happy with where it's at, so I've ditched too-big and too-small clothing without regret.

It's probably time for me to go back through most areas with a critical eye again. Problem is, donation centers are closed...

yes ours are too..although on the flip side no clothing shops are open either, (except for supermarkets)... so you better hold onto what clothes you have, you just never know how long the stores will be shut...

Clothing stores are open here, but I can't get in in my state. I usually buy three pairs of socks each winter. And undies too. This winter, no go. I have three pairs of socks. All with holes in them which I darn while watching movies. What a life.

I'm sorry you can't go Chic... :( that must be rotten to know they're open but you just can't go... at least with ours all being closed, irritating as it is, we know everyone's in the same boat here...
