I just want to thank you all...

R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
As I find myself more and more confined to a "hermit" life style this forum has become more important to me. Here I have friends who take me as I present myself and allow me a place "at the table". The more I am restricted in where I can go and what I can do, the more important you all have become as my "social life". I really appreciate your friendship and your sharing what would otherwise be very lonesome times for me. You are all special and I appreciate you all.

I’m flattered ! Even tho I’m kinda new , I feel like part of the gang ! It’s a great group of people here !!!!

((((. Jim. )))))

I know what you mean, Jim.

Forums on the internet are great provided people realise that they are actually taking part in a social grouping.
Good manners and forbearance are as necessary here as anywhere else that people congregate.

I really enjoy reading posts from familiar usernames because I have come to know many of the people behind the UN as an old friend.

Stay in touch and make sure that if you are too ill to post that you have someone who can tell us how you are getting on.
I have instructions in a little notebook that I carry everywhere. If I become incapacitated I want my forum friends to be informed as well as my family and neighbours.

Jim, just be aware that I have never thought of you as a guy with limits of any kind. When we were kids, we had "pen pals", who we "talked" with in slow motion. It was an adventure. On the forum, we are pen pals, without the pen.....who are able to trade words and thoughts at enlightening speed. We all have needs that draw us....loneliness, lack of friends & family, emotional, financial & spiritual gaps in our lives. I think loneliness is the big one. So we can all add our thanks to the pile! Thanks to you Jim for being here!

Thanks..It all comes down to this.....

Hello Jim, so glad you’re here and for your responses. I can relate somewhat to your comment. My father in law is 89, has macular degeneration and AFib. He can not see the screen at all these days and can not get around very well. But he has a group of pals that gather at his place on Saturday afternoons, I meet them there and read to them the forum, subject by subject, line by line and comment after comment. They have visualized each and everyone of you, and are ready to conment on comments. It gets pretty entertaining at times, but as you accurately defined it they have a place at the table as well.

Thanks so much for joining us, you’re always welcome and expected at the table.

Thanks, Jim!

I'm definitely better for knowing you and many others here on SF.

I look forward to your short laser focused observations and comments on many difficult subjects.

JIm, I'm rather new to this forum but from the posts of yours that I've read you seem to be a very practical straight shooter. Our planet needs more of those...

I'm sorry to hear about your health challenges and will keep you in my tenderest thoughts.

I can relate to your life style because I am living the hermit life and SF is a good outlet. I count 5 people here where I am living that are on O2 continually.

Cheers

We have a commonality here; many of us have similar life experience. It's nice to be among those who "get" it, and remember what it was like to grow up in a gentler time. So we can have differences, share a laugh, disagree, or maybe even lift each other up when we're sad. It's all good. And you're a big part of this place, Jim.
