"If you don't read the NEWS you are UINFORMED & IF you do read the NEWS you are MISINFORMED" This was certainly true with the recent election and continues to be so.

And just what do you suggest we do if we are to be "informed"? (other than this web-site, of course)

I think the truly "Misinformed" are those who limit their news exposure to one source....such as those who trust Fox News completely, or those who worship Rachel Maddow on MSNBC. Each of the major new outlets...TV, Newspaper, etc., has its own agenda...largely determined by the attitudes of its owners...and these venues All show some level of bias.

On matters of politics, especially, a person has to seek out the opposing viewpoints, then recognize that the Real truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.

I agree Don, guess I would have to add to Lon's statement...& if you read the news from various sources, you're semi-informed. Funny how the attention grabbing headlines can change from site to site, depending on the opinions of those presenting the news, or their interpretation of it anyway. I take everything I hear on Fox or MSNBC with a grain of salt, also don't take anything as hard factual news at first glance, because in 4 hours their whole story can change, and their "facts" were clearly just suppositions.

Great point. One thing I am finding troubling these days is that many can't tell the difference between a journalist and an editorialist. Granted it can be a fine line these days but many people cling to an article written by an editorialist and treat it as fact instead of an opinion .

Yes! I've seen that happen too.

About the ONLY thing presented on the TV news that can be called "factual", is reporting on something like a major natural disaster...flood, hurricane, etc. When it comes to matters of a political nature, we are "offered" the "opinions" of an unlimited supply of "talking heads"...whose banter represents the objectives of the wealthy owners of that particular network.

yep, a major problem for sure.

I don't trust anything I hear in the news anymore even natural disaster reports have misinformation. I think all we can do is read and listen to many different sources and figure out whats real and what's fake.
