Was watching news on my PC and minimized it with sound off.Was on all day Now I only have 3% of my allotment (daytime) left untill 4th April.Will have to surf in the wee hours now

Never heard of this "allotment" for PC use,what is it?
At most library's here you can log on for free.

I had an allotment like that very early on in my 'Net usage and at the time it was just the way things were. Once unlimited usage became a "thing" I dreaded ever having to go back to that system.

I guess it's like anything else - you get used to it.

I don't know what you can afford, but Charter (for one internet provider) has a deal now for 12 months, no contract, free install, 39.99 a month, unlimited, 30 download, 4 upload speeds. That's not bundled either, internet only. I don't need anything but my cell, and I watch all my movies online. Also, Charter has free Epix movies, bunches of them included in the package.

I understand many folks like their landline, and TV, so this wouldn't work for them.
