If they bring back covid restrictions will you comply this time around?

I will do whatever i need or am asked to do. The outrage about government control rings so very false to me. I grew up with mandatory school vaccinations and a draft. My….how twisted it has all become.
Did they ever ask you to wear masks in school? I think not...think about that, then tell me some in government are not playing with us...

there were plenty people who didn't comply here in 20/21 ...and they were arrested... now they have a criminal record...
That really is sad, especially since most all medical practices agree that masks do NOTHING to stop viruses. Masks are only worn in medicine to avoid bacterial infections...

So why would your leaders "arrest" someone who chooses not to wear a mask?

It seems like I am seeing more news about people getting Covid lately. I feel like "they" are getting ready to start the whole Covid response again. I have mixed feelings about taking part again. If it comes to getting another shot, I will have to consider it carefully. Probably I will wear a mask and keep my distance from others as a socially acceptable gesture.

@Timewise 60+ I was never mandated to wear a mask by my government. Individual businesses had rules. That might include mask wearing. Sort of goes along with the “no shoes, no shirt, no service” signs so favored. As far as hospitals and health care settings go…starting RSV season you will be wearing a mask to visit patients…or you will not be allowed to visit. I can recall that rule for at least the last 20 years at our hospital. It is not nefarious. As far as mask research goes…they help change the trajectory of sputum. Think you do not spew spit when you cough, sneeze or speak? Just imagine the outrage if our government had done nothing at all…and a million americans had died. Would you feel…better?

Who knows...beggared if I do... but believe me it happened... also people were being arrested for sitting on a bench in the park. Why couldn't people sit on a bench in the park?... a huge park no-one near anybody.. why could people here only go as far as their nearest park when they were allowed to go out..why did people get stalked by drone by the Police.. and some arrested for rambling in the huge outdoor Peak District..essentially a national park... why were people fined for not wearing a mask on the train or tube to work..?... giving them criminal records...?

Covid: Maskless Tube passengers owe Transport for London £142,000 in fines

Your country has fallen a long way since WWII....

Your country has fallen a long way since WWII....
welll tbf WW2 was 80 years ago... a great deal has changed in the world since then...however in the last 15 years in the UK... we've dropped further down the well than we've ever dropped before... It's not the country it was even 20 years ago... nowhere near !! It's heartbreaking to see a once mighty , proud nation, evolved into what it is today

I have always loved the English for how they stood alone against Germany! I am sorry to see all that has changed. As you know the USA has fallen in many of the same ways. I hate seeing it here also.

I fear something may happen in time that will again threaten our remaining freedoms...it seems like the whole world is walking towards socialism...

Holly, by the way, I am in my 70's and 80 years ago doesn't seem so long ago from my perspective...and yes much has changed...

I agree but there are lots of us willing to fight for those freedoms still. The world has changed a lot. In WWII young men lied about their ages so they could enlist and fight for their countries. Now boys lie about their gender so they can beat girls in girls' sports. It's a sad change for sure. But I really don't feel like this is anywhere near done. We need strong people to emerge and organize and guide.

I will comply with whatever rules are mandated in order to continue to live my busy life without disruption.

The science regarding vaccines and viruses is clear. Vaccines don’t prevent becoming ill. They simply mitigate the symptoms. So yes, I will have more boosters if the need arises, because as stated above, I want as few disruptions to my life as possible and getting gravely ill from Covid isn’t in my plans.

there is no way on this earth that my parents who were born in the 20's and 30's could ever have imagined the world as it is today...

well I'm 68... and I can tell you it's only in the last 20 years things have changed massively... I could start telling you why, but it involves politics and other subjects that are not PC these days.. so i won't..

If we reread the OP, it asked if we would comply with COVID restrictions if they were brought back. Notice the word "restrictions." So I asked what restrictions will you comply with, not what you think someone else should comply with, just you?

Restrictions implimented 2020-2022 included

1. A face covering of any kind.

2. Distancing 6 feet from other people

3. Hand sanitizing in a way that would kill virus

4. Surface cleansing with viral killing agents

5. Lockdowns "shutdowns" for churches, gyms, social clubs, many small businesses, but not pot dispenseries or liquor stores.

6. Busnesses mandated to how many people could be in their business at the same time.

7. How many could gather in ones home at the same time. Holidays observed by families that once had 50 over holiday dinner and party, were then told no more than 25 or you can be arrested. It didn't matter the size of the home, just one mandate fits all. Whether your dining room was 5000 sq feet or 100 sq feet, didn't matter.

So I think the question is how many will comply with all the above mandates or if you only will with certain ones and not others?

Any virologist or neurologist that has no financial or political motivation, will tell you masking is the least effective, if at all, of all the above mentioned former mandates. Politicians will tell you masking is the best. WHY? Because it is the only one that can be easily enforced either by mandates or social shaming and blaming that results turning humans against each other. Just look at the great divide that politicans implimented by their, now proven, false narratives. They turned friends and family against each other. They caused ones not knowledgeable about medical science to live in fear. They caused hate for any that refused to mask, as spreaders.

What about the masses that never sanitized their hands before entering and leaving a store? Who judged them as spreaders?

It interest me what of the above 7 COVID mandates you will be compliant?

I posted this thread a while ago and I am beginning to believe they will not bring back restrictions because too many are no longer interested. Even with all the hype about the variants and getting the next booster and masking up, no one is rushing to do so where I live which surprises me in a way. But, we did have a statewide mask mandate for 13 months. In hospitals and courts it lasted over 3 years. So I guess it's logical people may be weighing their options here.

I get Covid boosters when they become available. Anyone, particularly of the age of the posters in this forum, who refuses those boosters is making a BIG mistake. As for masks, I wear one when a business, doctor’s office, or homeowner requires it, otherwise I am not a big fan.

I had a Phizer shot and then got Covid
so why would I do that again?
Boosters are designed to deal with new variants of the Covid virus, variants that are not defeated by the original vaccines. Some of us, me included, may still get the disease, but it will be weakened by up to date vaccination and less likely to be lethal or require hospitalization. There have been more than a million Covid deaths in the United States. Don’t be one of those.

My next door neighbor called this morning and told me she has Covid, So does the woman she travelled with and the people she visited over Labor Day weekend. She said the incubation period varies between 2 and 14 days. That makes it difficult to pin point the source. She is in her late fifties and said it felt much like a bad cold with a couple of severe headaches. We are in Metro Atlanta.

Covid is again on the rise in the US, including increases in hospitalizations and deaths. I had a doctor appointment yesterday and wore a KN95 mask. Going to the store today and will do the same. As soon as the next booster comes out (hopefully in a week or two), I'll get another jab.

I had Covid in late Dec. 2020 before anyone other than healthcare workers was eligible for the vaccine, and medical grade masks were in such short supply that they were impossible to get - even for healthcare workers.

Despite being fully healthy with no underlying conditions (but age 68), Covid was no picnic during the worst of the illness and it left me needing Rx breathing meds for 12 weeks.

So yeah, until this wave has passed I'll wear a mask in public, keep my distance from others as best I can, and get vaccinated ASAP. I have no problem doing any of the above.

Even when effective masks were available, a large percentage of people wore masks badly - loose on their faces with their noses sticking out. Then those people swore masks weren't effective. Gee, do ya' think?

Masks aren't 100% effective as virus protection, but they're far more effective than going bare-faced.

El Castor, with all due respect, I think we're all educated on this topic. It's now a personal choice to get a shot or not. Now that there is a new "up-to-date" Booster shot, some will intelligently weigh the pros and cons of what might be discovered down the line that could be harmful to us short-term or long-term. We now have a long history of ongoing improvements to medications of all sorts that constantly evolve in the hopes to find a winning combination. some wins, some losses. The losses are significant.

I'm certainly not trying to deter you from taking it....it's a personal choice. Please do your own thing. Life is all about choices...everyday. What's good for one may not be good for another. But I wouldn't try to push others to take a road they haven't chosen or their doctor hasn't chosen. the majority are smarter than you give them credit. We don't know their personal business.

If you aren't at all concerned about putting "new updated" poisons (for lack of a better word since it's truthfully what boosts our immune system while compromising other good stuff in our systems) that may one day, yet again, be discovered to be harmful to us, then that's your choice.

I agree with @StarSong regarding wearing a KN95 mask...no harm there.

But I think a lot of us are just tired of all the new negative and serious findings of shots and meds that turn out to cause worse symtoms in the long run...like Miocarditis in children for one. My son almost died of Miocarditis after a helicopter ride to Children's Hospital in Washington DC and a 2 week stay...it was a complete nightmare with lasting affects.

I'm not saying this new Booster isn't better...but only time will tell. It's a risk some are not willing to take based on what we now know from experience. Plus, some have been told by their doctors that they must not take it. We don't know other peoples business.

Exactly! I find it shameful that as seniors we are told if we don't comply with vaccines or masking, that we a making a big mistake for ourselves and endangering others.

If anyone thinks I am making a mistake, then give me the reason why, using their personal knowledge of virology and the immune system, not something they read or heard online.
