If You Could Re-live One Day in Your Life what day would it be?

The day I jumped off the back of a golf cart and broke a wrist. I would wait for the cart to stop before jumping. ;)
 

I relive moments of my life all the time.
My memory kicks in on something and I then spend time savouring the memory
and reflecting on the way it has added to my happiness or growth.

Many of these memories feature people I have loved but who are no longer with me except in these very precious memories.
 

It looks like a lot of responses here involve a romance, or a romance that eventually went bad. I have had some relationships that even though they ended, I learned and grew in some way. However, one in particular ultimately proved to be exceptionally damaging. In short, I wish that I had not....opened that Pandora's box.

Sometimes food is the trigger and I think of how Nana loved this flavour ice cream or how my dad made big boilers full of hot pea soup with bacon bones.
Other times it is particular flowers or plants that grew in their gardens or places we went in their company.
Sometimes it is a familiar saying that pops into my head.

When it happens, I smile and feel very warm and happy. I think humans have long term memories for a reason.
These days I remember painful things a lot less than I do lovely moments from the past.
 
I see what you mean Dame Warrigal. Those memories sound nice. Yes, I have those kinds, I thought you meant you spent a long time thinking about days done by. I never think about a memory more than a few minutes at the very most. Maybe we are on the same page. :)
 
May 28th 1961. A friend from school called and asked if I wanted to spend the day with her and some of her friends. I said yes,and when I got to her house and met her friends I instantly fell in love with one of the boys.The feeling was mutual,and May 28th 1966 we got married. We celebrated 49 yrs of Marriage in May and hopefully we'll share many more. I wouldn't want to live one day without him.:love_heart:
