If you have a cell phone, do you still wear a watch?

Yes I wear a watch always. It's water-resistant, so I can wear it in the shower. I also have several other watches, including leather strap ones.

My o/h's hobby was watch making, and copying high end models to perfection

I have an Iphone, why would I want to carry the iphone to tell the time.?.. with a wristwatch I have both hands free, and my iphone is where it belongs, in my bag.

I get irked with people who ask why they should wear a watch when they're retired. That supposes they don't care if they're late for an appointment.. annoying for other people, whose time is precious ..and anyway whoever got up for work using a watch..surely it was an alarm clock !..getting rid of the alarm clock may makes sense but the watch, nope

Once I quit working, I ditched my old Bulova watch . My Wife bought me a surprise 65th birthday watch that cost $800. It is a special edition Silver Maple Leaf coin face watch made by the Royal Canadian Mint, number 865 of 1000. The number 865 was my badge number as a Auxiliary Police Constable here in Toronto in the 1980's. I was very pleased with the gift, but I have to confess that I only wear it a few times per year, and right now it needs a new battery. It lives in my old jewelry box, which was a high school graduation gift from my Mum in 1964. My wife and I have a number of electronics in the house that display the time, like the TV box, the microwave, the washer, so it isn't hard to know what time it is around here. JimB.

I still wear my watch. I just bought a new one, the best I've ever owned, but then watches are just getting better like everything else. Getting my phone out of my pocket, especially when I'm driving is almost impossible, but then my car's navigation tells me the time, so there's that. Hiking with my trekking poles is a bit more problematic. Sure, I could stop, take the poles' straps off my wrists and pull my phone out of my pocket, but my watch is just there where I can see it without even missing a step.

I have a friend who no longer wears his watch, and he wants me to not wear a watch, but that's because he's in love with his phone, and he likes fishing it out and poking at it, and he thinks I should too.

I sleep with my watch. I suppose I could take my phone to bed with me, and sometimes I do, but it's easier to look at my watch, the only time I take it off is when I take a shower. I'm use to it. For those who don't know it yet, a watch can be very handy. But keep in mind, this is not an either/or issue. Why not have both? And you're always covered as quickly as you can be. Plus you have two toys instead of one.

I have always worn a watch, feel incomplete if I don't put it on during the day. I do have a cell that I use daily for other things.. A cell phone can be distracting if you are just looking for the time. Cell phones lure you in to check messages, send your heart rate up then worry about why....nope.
Just the watch for me.

I've always worn a watch and feel discombobulated without one. In fact, I need a new one (the band is showing some wear and tear) and will splurge on a new one for my upcoming birthday.

I am not 'attached' to my cel phone...which is my only phone...and use it exclusively for calls, texts and pix.

When I worked, wearing a watch was part of my wardrobe, but since retirement, I have avoided wearing one. My wife, otoh, has more watches than the local department store. She says she wants to be fashionable.

I wore a watch for years but pretty much stopped when I got my first smart phone.

I have an iPhone, my oven and microwave show the time, there’s a clock in the bedroom, a clock in my car, digital time displays at my various clients’ homes, so I have zero need of a watch.

Recently though I was gifted an Apple Watch and I wear that every day now. It’s really handy! Displays so much more info than just the time! Plus has other features that I find useful. I can answer a call with it, send and receive text messages, trace my physical activity, start and stop the audio book I’m listening to, access a variety of other apps, a lot of other stuff too. It’s a very useful device! 👍

I do at times, just for convenience. There are times and places where it would be much less convenient to whip out the cell phone every time I want to know what time it is. Much easier to just look at my wrist.

But I don't wear the watch every day. It depends on where I am going and what I'll be doing.

I have worn a watch probably since I was in high school. I had a great fear of being late for class. That continued through my college years. In my working life I had to visit clients and always felt it important to respect another person’s time and arrive at the agreed hour. This was before everybody (and sometimes their dog) had cell phones. Fast forward to today and I love my iphone but I love my Apple watch even more. It’s strapped to my arm so always with me and it can do just about everything the phone does plus, more importantly to a person with balance issues, it will call for help if I need it.

I like watches. I bought 2 by mail, only to find out they didn't have batteries. I also found nice watches at a thrift shop- but the cashier said they were only collectors' items and didn't actually work.
Some of those "collectors items" are actually wind-up watches the younger generations don't know how to operate because they don't know where the battery goes.....

I always wear a watch. A cell phone is usually in a pocket. My watch is always right there. And I have the 3 things I need (time, day, date) without pushing any buttons. The one I wear is waterproof, shockproof, not expensive ($52.00) & the display is great for my old eyes. The battery is guaranteed for 10 years, but I've had Casios that went for 20 years. I've dropped them, & beat them up; they never fail. And battery replacement is around $10.00: The light lets you read it in total darkness & there is an alarm & stopwatch. What's not to like?
