I would hire a pastry chef to make dozens of wonderful pastries a few mornings a week. At least two dozen. Then I would hand them out on a street corner to make people feel good as they start their day.
That first sentence cracked me up. Thanks for the laugh.I'd love to say I'm filthy stinking rich but I'm going to have to settle for 2-out-of-3......
If I became filthy stinking AND rich, I can't see my a$$ lolling in a villa with my billionaire friends on the French Riviera. Not my scene.
I CAN see, however, having a modest summer cabin in the mountains, a modest winter cottage somewhere warm and a couple of longish vacations every year somewhere exotic but not necessarily palatial.
I would hire someone to clean behind the toilet, scrub the bathtub and shower, dust, wash the windows and, especially, cook for me.
Ahhhh....paradise.
I buy travel insurance as a matter of course before I set off abroad.. I do have an E111 card which allows me standard free care in all European countries.. but if something more serious happened.. and I had to be flown home , or a major operation then that's what the Travel Insurance covers. However that's a pittance compared to the price of Private Medical Insurance in the UK.. which for me would be very expensive monthly..I’d buy travel insurance but would be fairly content that if something went wrong and the insurance company failed me, I’d still have a roof over my head when I got home.
Excellent idea. I will use my new fortune for that fancy nursing home too.I have been thinking on the topic of being fabulously wealthy a bit more. It would be really comforting to know that I or my DW would never have to worry about ending up in some crummy nursing home where you would get questionable care. You could hire all the help you needed to be able to remain in your home. That would be worth a lot to me as I sometimes worry this could happen to us down the road.
Absolutely. I like quality things. They are better made and do last longer and I'm happier. That's what it's all about. I am worth it and I am unapologetically an expensive lady.I guess I'm just cheap. If I had a $billion or two, would I buy expensive stuff? Would I buy a Rolls Royce, or a Honda? Is a Rolls going to get your down the street faster? Nope, wouldn't get a Rolls.. I now have an $8.97 Timex, so would I buy a Rolex? Well, 3:30 PM is the same on all watches. Maybe I'm just cheap. But if you were swimming in cash, would you buy the expensive stuff?
That's always been a dream of mine DebraMaeI would get a camper van and travel.
