Is the weather more extreme?

Ice caps are melting due to an overall increase in the average temperature on Earth. In 1994, the planet was losing around 800 billion metric tons of ice per year. Today, the planet loses around 1.2 trillion tons per year. Altogether, Earth has lost around 28 trillion tons of ice in the past three decades.

That number is accelerating each decade. It is reported that [Antarctica](https://study.com/learn/lesson/antarctica-overview-geography-terrain.html) is losing ice polar ice at an average rate of about 150 billion tons per year, and Greenland is losing polar ice at a rate of 280 billion tons per year.

Due to this and how barbaric mankind is, we’ve lost 83% of our precious animal species.

We have global flooding, hurricanes, more wild fires than we can handle, extreme temperatures ( this year some places on earth reaching a high of 54 Celsius or 129.2 Fahrenheit). The hottest recorded weather was on July 10th, 1913 - 134 degrees Fahrenheit, hail the size of golf balls mid summer, more tornados than ever.

Of course we are getting extreme weather. You just have to look further than your own backyard.

The ice flows around Antarctica shrink during the SH Summer and recover in Winter. This Winter they are not reforming as usual. If this keeps happening and they do not recover next year, major ocean currents will be affected/disrupted.

Yes it’s really very sad what’s happening. In future years our planet could look like a scene from ‘Water World’ and it’s shocking that some don’t believe in global climate warming.

Exactly! And we were warned 40 years ago that this would happen....no I won't be around either when it gets really bad but my grandchildren will.
We sure were warned but there’s too many people profiting from ruining our earth who don’t care who it affects. Then there’s people like the poster below you who haven’t a clue.
A lot of people believe in conspiracy theories.

It is pretty hard to deny if you get around much. Currently spending most of my time around phoenix. The saguaro cactus are bursting from the sustained heat. And it is probably the sustained heat that is doing it. When i was a kid the temp could get to 120…but now the extreme high temps are sustained for days and days. We used to cool down at least 20 degrees at night…this also is not happening. I attribute that to the asphalt and concrete effect of our huge population growth. This is not some government conspiracy.

Something is causing the glaciers around the world to melt...faster than scientist's predicted. You don't need a scientific chart to witness this. You can observe it with your own eyes. Explain what is causing this very dangerous phenomena? I would think it would be an extreme rise in temperatures all over the globe.

in my opinion, which is about as useful as peeing on a forest fire.i think it could be natural and fossil fuel use by humans at the same time.

It sounds a bit of a strange question but has the weather really changed?
Of course it has, the earth's climate and weather is always changing. Its been a lot hotter and a lot colder, and it will be again.

I think you are probably right, or as likely to be right as any expert. So maybe that fire is going out...
I know, as I write this, it will be severely attacked, will anger and offend.
I sure hope not. I don't always agree with you, but I do always read your posts. You are a smart articulate lady, worth listening to. You don't anger or offend me.

I admit to having been a Global Warming skeptic, but no more. We have been experiencing a drought, but that seems to have changed, as have our winter rains. Lately it has been what is termed an Atmospheric River, coming at us across the Pacific from Hawaii — torrential. Locally heat has not been a problem, but most of inland California has been an oven, and California is far from unique.
