Male, but, I've mostly had female physicians over the past 15 years and would prefer to have a woman doc now. But mostly it depends on the doctor and so far, my women doctors have been more sensitive to my needs. Gender won't always determine more relatable, but, it's just been easier in some instances talking to my lady docs.
I've had some terrific male doctors who filled in for my present doctor, but, I wouldn't feel comfortable asking to switch, plus they have to agree to take you on and then there's that messy bit if they don't, possibly not wanting to step on co-workers toes. If you make such a request your present doc will know about it and though they swear an oath of sorts to treat their patients fairly, I don't want to risk resentment. I like the guy as a person, he's a sweet person, I just would like a different doc with more experience and relatable knowledge to some degree.
