It seems like this forum is getting a bit stale.

I find that this site, like everywhere else has cliques. I noticed it very early on. When certain people post, there will be a lot of activity. When others post, not so much. Maybe what you are seeing is the dynamic of cliques on this site. It would be nice if people wouldn't do this, but I have found this to be true everywhere, in everything. Work, church, social settings, even in families.

I like this site and don't want to see it change. It's rare anymore to find a site that members can discuss topics.

I think we’re all spoiled rotten here
And I’m wunna them

It’s a very very busy site
Variety abounds

and the mods do their jobs without much ado

Take a break or a pill

It’s the best site goin’

Guilty.
Spoiled also.
( hangs head )

I’m with Gary and feel very fortunate to be here.
With such tolerant, patient , humble moderation it’s sometimes easy to take this forum for granted.

There have been plenty of mistakes I’ve made that have been fixed with such style and grace and no heavy handed backlash that I’m grateful. I don’t think the moderators here get the appreciation and gratitude they rightly deserve.

Its a privilege to be a member here and thank the site moderators for running such a classy site for us ‘old folks.’

Yes, there was definitely a 'clique' on the other site I mentioned. When I first joined and before I started contributing to the discussions, I noticed how one person would get 'picked on', then her cronies would join in. Instead of continuing to discuss the topic, they turned their attention to the victim and jumped on everything she said. She stopped posting and only used the site for her personal friends, which was a shame as she was obviously a much nicer person than the bullies. This happened to others too, and it was always the same people who did the bullying.

I've never noticed a clique here at all. What I do notice is that the same people post and seem to be here daily; others simply read and don't participate as much. So it may seem that the active posters are a group when actually they just enjoy conversing. That's just the nature of forums.

Oh, and I agree with Aunt Bee... after a while, I can see the avatar on a post and pretty much know what the poster is going to say. :D

I'm no longer an active member, just an actor portraying one, but this was always a pretty good site. Lots of activity, fun things to do, tempers flaring and subsiding ... sort of like a nursery school for mature adults.

I think most forums have their ebb and flow, their own personal rhythms, and the trick is to learn to ride them much as a surfer learns to read and ride the waves.

Right on, Keesha. I hit the wrong button when giving a positive rep that made it negative and when I asked admin/mod to fix it...bingo-bango DONE. I gave too much personal information about one of my children and reported it so I could ask for it to be removed...and bingo-bango DONE. Admin/mod are always on it and never complain. They are so supportive and consistently never waiver with rules. They're fair and just. They spend a lot of time running a smooth ship. I feel safe and comfortable here because of them. All we have to do is obey the rules and not argue/complain when we mess up and when they let us know. They know what works better than we do so just let them do their job.

As far as the members go, I super enjoy most posts and posters (the ones I haven't are gone now). It's a fun group and lots of fun surprises. I learn a lot from some, some make me laugh a lot which is very healing, some make me think twice about things. We're all very different and I find it fascinating.

It isn't easy coming up with questions-I search the web for mine!-but without them there would be no forum.Wren is right about the admins not throwing their weight around like someone does on another site which caused me to take a break from it.On most forums-and I am on a few-Its only a small percentage of members who ask the questions. The majority prefer to just answer-or even just read.

There are probably many like me who wait to see what question you'll post next! :fun: Maybe more of us should try that?

ME TOO. Ive given out far too much info about my parents and some other people I know without thinking about the implications or the problems it might cause which was totally my fault , asked for it to be removed and it was done with no questions asked.

I had also posted pictures of some people I knew and hadn’t asked permission to use their picture. They’d posted the same pictures on Facebook but that’s not the same thing,..... according to what my husband says. I don’t do Facebook so really didn’t know. I’d assumed wrongly.
Again.
They do a good job indeed.

Yes. It is a fun loving site !

I truly enjoy being a member here,to get different views from members who live around the world
