Jane Goodall speaks about Conservation and why she's a vegetarian

Shali, that sounds like my old friend in North Vancouver who is 93 now and has been a vegetarian/vegan since around 1971, when first I met her. True she has slowed down and can't hike up the mountain like she used to but she's still her old feisty self and very much alive. No medical conditions that I know of except some arthritis.

Two excellent examples of non-meat diets being suitable for long and healthy life. Sort of flies in the face of 'no meat = weak and sickly'. Thanks Cookie and Shalimar for sharing your friends stories. There are any number of examples of body builders and athletes who also don't eat meat and they're doing just fine too.

Who wants to live forever if you can't enjoy some good stuff along the way. Pot roast today! Ummm...

I don't promote a vegetarian diet here, as we've been down this road before, and I would never expect or hope anyone to change after they are a certain age. We humans are very attached to our way of life and our food means everything to us, it would be too traumatic. If one wants to make changes its best and easiest to do it in small ways over a period of time and do some research and plan goals.

For those who want to continue in the old way, well, its their body and their choice. Just like smoking, no one can stop them, especially when big business is waving it in their face. It's always about money.

Swinging, yes, I have been thinking about starting a senior's swingers club if anybody is interested...

Ralphy, does this mean that the gallon of spray starch, and box of teeny toothpicks I sent you have arrived? I suggest breaking the toothpicks in half, no point in wasting all that wood....
