He's been dead for 400 years! See link!I've eaten mor bishops than hot dinners - did he ever publish a paper on his thesis or just expect us all to believe??
I admire your joyful certainty, Gary! Good for you and I mean it. I consider myself a Christian but am torn by doubt quite often! Wish it weren't so!Those who wish to doubt will have opportunity
While those who really desire to know the truth
will find plenty of evidence in The Word on which to rest their faith.
Yes, we have the power of choice
If the atheists are right, the Christians lose nothing
Maybe some false joy...
But
If the Christians are right, the atheists lose..... everything
I so enjoy the prayerful study of His Word
It gives me a hope in this hopeless world
And a joy that I'll not soon let go
the athesists lose nothing too - they simple become converted christians and we have a good chuckle about it - they will never be lostThose who wish to doubt will have opportunity

Do you expect to see Hitler there! I don't believe in an everlasting hellfire, but I do believe he will live on ... apart from God!the athesists lose nothing too - they simple become converted christians and we have a good chuckle about it - they will never be lost
After a couple of thousand years in darkness, maybe. In the book by donald neale walsch who wrote several religious tomes - first one was conversations with God - in which he claimed he did have such conversation - one phrase sticks out " even hitler went to heaven" - I read that about 20 years ago!
No, not really. Can you tell me why?
Evil people do not go to heaven unless they repented and God decides whether they really have.I don't see a universal salvation! God's there, arms outstretched (virtually), warmly welcoming murderers, rapists, warmongers, haters. "You've been a bit naughty, but we all make mistakes, so go on in, have some manna, it's really good! See Hitler over there? He's really happy with his Aryan Brotherhood buddies! Hope you will enjoy Heaven!
No way! There has to be Judgment of some sort! And punishment! Maybe not eternal but to pay off the debt they owe to their victims.
Many great scientists were and are Christians.there are some that think that this globe and our existances on it are mere fragments of the sciences - microbial beings that crawled out of the sea or swamps : so its either Darwinism or Godism - even Darwin said that people had misrepresented his thoughts on "origin of the species" Darwin was a man of God not of microbes
That's simply not BiblicalIn the book by donald neale walsch who wrote several religious tomes - first one was conversations with God - in which he claimed he did have such conversation - one phrase sticks out " even hitler went to heaven"
Most people's gods are the gods of their geographic location, especially the gods their parents taught them. I was born in a family with mostly strong fundamentalist views (Baptist), although my mother was a Lutheran. Lutherans can be all over the map, but my mother had a somewhat measured response to religious doctrine. She encouraged me to believe, but probably without really knowing it, she encouraged me to think, probably assuming I would naturally believe. It didn't work out that way. I'm the only atheist/agnostic in my family. However, I did struggle to believe in a god for many years well into my 50s. My sister converted to Catholicism, because she married a Catholic, and denominational affiliation just isn't that important to her.I was born and raised in the Catholic religion and I firmly believe in God.
You mean the real-life humans as opposed to the made-up ones? Are you slipping, Ed? Should I worry?Perhaps Jesus and god are ok, however, it is instution, preachers, clergyman, and the church that offends people?
Actually, in my years long quest to define a god that made sense, I concocted one that no one could ever understand or be able to identify as the source of anyone's personal good or evil. He did not enter into the lives of humans, or do anything that would allow humans to test his presence. Basically, he stayed out of the way. I did make allowances that he could watch us for reasons beyond anyone's understanding. I don't know why I allowed him that one trait. I also decided he was not impressed with any religion where petty humans preached his secret plan for humanity.Perhaps Jesus and god are ok, however, it is instution, preachers, clergyman, and the church that offends people?
when ya get up there you'll be directed to the "retribution group" for further training and relaxation therapies!!I don't see a universal salvation! Walsch never claimed it was biblical - his books were called "conversations with God" - that was for him the real thing then he wrote them down in non-biblical more easily readible language? That's simply not Biblical
There is no 'eternal hell'
Nothing in The Bible supports that
There's just eternal death.....separation
Sleep...worm food.
Everlasting hell fire? Yes
You ain't comin' back
Ecclesiastes9:5
For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing
There's tons of texts supporting that, but outside is calling me right now
If they conflict with the plain teachings of The Word, there is no truth in themWalsch never claimed it was biblical - his books were called "conversations with God" - that was for him the real thing then he wrote them down in non-biblical more easily readible language?
