Jimmy Buffett has died

A good number of rock stars seem to die young, or at least relatively so. I think a lot of us would like to sojourn to his Margaritaville.

At least we still have some of our rock icons, like Mick Jagger. Try your margarita with a little brown sugar, eh?

Here in Cincinnati, he used to fill the venue 4&5 nights in a row. I used to work with a guy that went every year . One year he & his wife went to all five ! I think it started on Thursday , and the last one was on Sunday.

Never did attend , but I did like his music.

Haven't heard yet , what took him ?

He used to come to Cedar Key back in the 80's, when it was very low key and non-touristy. He liked it there because everyone pretended they didn't know who he was and left him alone unless he wanted to be bothered.

We spent a lot of weekends there but I never saw him......unless I did and didn't recognize him. People would always say, " You shoulda been here last weekend when Jimmy was here. He was sittin' on the steps of the Island Hotel and playin'!"

Someone always it seems needs to make a snide remark. I don't know what took him but, he was 76 and lived life his way. Nothing wrong with that. He was an amazing talent .
IMO snide is the wrong term especially if one knows how he felt about it. In 2020, Jimmy himself publicly gave up the alcohol lifestyle, while relating he was sorry he had led others that way by being drunk at his concerts. So am just repeating what he himself felt a need to address the public with. And yes I've enjoyed seeing him in concert here in the SFBA.

Heard on the news that his death was due to skin cancer, that progressed and entered his lymph system.
