Jackie Wilson - Lonely Teardrops
Aunt Bea, I have the live version of Touch Me In The Morning. I had recorded on DVD and my son was able to grab the audio from that. I love it so much better than the recording and play it often.
Mark, I loved that movie! I've seen it at least 3 times. It's obvious that you also have great taste in music.I loved black singers growing up, starting with Diana Ross but moving on to the Jackson’s and all things Motown. Tthen I discovered Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Aretha and Mavis Staples and other Gospel singers. They could open up even the secular agnostic I was then.
My wife introduced me to Sonny and Terry and more Blues but best of all the beautiful album Black Orpheus. Before I met Lia an older girlfriend introduced me to good Reggae.
Black Orpheus won the Palme d'Or at the 1959 Cannes Film Festival,[9] the 1960 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film,[10] the 1960 Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Film and was nominated for the 1961 BAFTA Award for Best Film.
