Just had an earthquake

So far so good. This was really a minor quake, but when one happens it gets your attention. The last quake we felt was centered near Trona / China Lake area in 2021, about 2 hours north. That one was much stronger, 7.1 with considerable damage there.

I was born and raised in the Santa Clara Valley. We had several quakes. I wasn't there for the big one, but I visited Santa Cruz a year or so afterward. What a mess. How far from a major fault line are you. Everybody keeps wondering is this going to be the BIG one. The one where half of California falls into the sea. I know this one was small, and glad of that. I remember how weird they are. It is like your surroundings are melting. Do you live anywhere near Edwards Air Force Base?

We are **really really** near the the San Andreas Fault, it runs right through our community. It runs though Cajon Pass, up Lone Pine Canyon, through Wrightwood and goes west and then follows the 14 fwy north along the Eastern Sierras.

Edwards AFB is west of here, about 54 miles.
