Katrina vanden Heuvel on how U.S. media’s “one-sided debate” on Ukraine fans the flames of war

Added to your impressive knowledge base that covers ALL things great and small, "Putin/Rattlesnake Expert" is gonna look mighty spiffy on your Resume there, Nathan boy!

Your typical troll behavior again @UncleVinny , slinging insults from a weak, fearful position. I'd wager you'd hold your tongue and show respect if we were face to face.

On this forum, we are not permitted to treat each other with contempt. Perhaps this is not the right venue for you. By the way, Nathan is a very valued member. His cogent remarks are enjoyed by many of our members.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Nathan is a wonderful fellow, and I was simply complimenting him on his input. It is good that you have his "six".

When it becomes clear that NATO will back off and stop trying to encroach on his border, he will call...Game Over and pull outta Ukraine.

And you know this how?
Maybe going back to 2017 when Russia began build up of military & threat of nuclear, the smaller less militarily equipped neighbors began to take his threat seriously.

Funny how being smaller & not as well equipped those bordering countries would seek a way to assure defense.

IMO, I think there is a whole lot more to this war than we know. It just isn’t making any sense how a country like Russia is having trouble defeating Ukraine. I have seen the capabilities of their aircraft and the tanks that they have and that they have not yet put in force. I don’t understand why they are pussyfooting with a country that has to rely on the wealth of other countries just to stay in the game. It’s almost like both countries want to keep it going for as long as they want because of what, I don’t know.

In my opinion, the world response was not sufficient enough, nor quick enough. Everyone seemed to just "stand by" and "talk" and "wait and see what happens" as Russia amassed troops at the border. This would not have been my response.

I feel stupid commenting on a video I haven' t watched. But I believe I understand her point about wondering into a proxy war. Our endeavors in Ukraine have all the hallmarks of early Vietnam. Whether its is good, or not, that not in my paygrade. The real question is how far is NATO going to stand Russian aggression?

Aggression? If NATO pushes back aggressively on Russian "aggression"; China may jump in. Iran and North Korea then may seize an opportunity in the confusion to start getting "Froggy". The question then might be, what would be the best way to deal with those two nuclear capable little scamp's?. Eraser Head, Kim, probably would just make a lot of noise, but Iran...Iran might attempt to turn Israel into a sheet of glass.

Interesting times we are in.

Bottom line is that Vlad does not want NATO/The U.N./The U.S. lined up on his border like vultures.
Lined up on "Vlad's" borders for decades doing what? Threatening him? How? Has NATO positioned thousands of troops, tanks, and weapons along "Vlad's" borders?

No. First of all, those are Russia's borders, not Putin's. And what NATO countries have been doing is buying billions of dollars worth of "Vlad's" mineral fuels and oil, iron, aluminum and steel, fertilizers, grains and more every year. European and US corporations have opened businesses there, employing 100s of 1000s of Russians, and invested in development, improving Russia's economy.

Ooo, scary stuff.

All anyone can do at this point is speculate on "what if"...since Putin has not gone balls out with his "invasion" it really is difficult to handicap this "war".

I am going to simply sit back, clam up with my opinions and see where it goes.

This is what I’m talking about. A country like Russia with all the war machines they have, why is this war not over? Are they worried about too many innocent casualties? Probably not. Something else is keeping them from going all out on Ukraine.
