"It is the perfect solution for those seeking a palatial residence... for their pampered poultry. But to keep hens in such royal luxury, you must be prepared to shell out an eye-watering £3,750."

"This hen house is being sold by Prince Charles’s Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire and is inspired by the birds he keeps there. The made-to-order Highgrove Hen House is built using Forest Stewardship Council-certified timber, which means it was sourced from a responsibly managed forest, and decorated with eggshell blue water-based paint."

"The roof is natural cedar, the wheels are cast iron and other fixtures are in galvanised steel. Each house sleeps four to eight chickens and features two nest boxes, adjustable perches and stable-style doors."

"Made by Wildlife World, a Gloucestershire firm, the hen houses are being sold on the Highgrove website which describes the design as ā€˜unique and innovative’." Read More

King Charles III embraces eco-friendly garden trend

"A passionate and dedicated gardener, King Charles III is absolutely our most green-fingered (and eco-friendly) monarch to date. It makes sense, then, that the head of the royal family has brought a whole host of new and exciting garden ideas to the estate at Sandringham."

"In fact, he's made a point of giving the topiary garden at his Norfolk Home a complete overhaul – and tackled one of this year's biggest garden trends in the process. That's right: the topiary garden at Sandringham has now been unveiled to members of the public after five months of renovations."

"It will be a poignant day, tinged with sadness and The King will spend the first anniversary of his accession to the throne privately. His Majesty will pass the day in Aberdeenshire. His base there, Birkhall, is on the Balmoral estate. Queen Elizabeth II died in the main house at Balmoral."

Buckingham Palace says King Charles will mark the moment ā€quietly and privatelyā€.

"The King took the throne on September 8th 2022 on the death of Queen Elizabeth II. His Majesty was at Balmoral when Her Late Majesty passed away there at 3.10pm. His reign began at that very moment. King Charles is following the example of his late mother who always spent the anniversary of her own accession privately. Elizabeth II passed the anniversary, February 6th, at Sandringham, the place where her own father, George VI, died."

"It’s also been confirmed that there will be no public memorial event for Queen Elizabeth II on the anniversary of her death. However, a permanent national memorial for Her Late Majesty will be created in due course."

Kate Middleton ā€˜tipped to take over senior role’ from King Charles at royal club

"Senior figures at The Royal Thames Yacht Club are reportedly hoping that Kate Middleton might be willing to take over an important role from her father-in-law, King Charles III. The Knightsbridge-based club includes Lord Mountbatten and Prince Philip among its former royal patrons."

"Earlier this week, the yacht club hosted a new event on the Isle of Wight, titled ā€œWomen Who Rock the Boatā€, in an effort to encourage women to take up sailing. According to the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden, a senior member of the club said Kate would be a ā€œgreat role modelā€ were she to take on a position."

"The Princess of Wales is a noted sailing enthusiast. Last year, she joined the Team GB sailing team in Plymouth for a friendly race against New Zealand. In 2019, she accompanied her husband, Prince William, with their children Princess Charlotte and Prince George, to the charity King’s Cup regatta on the Isle of Wight."

ā€œThe trouble is, royal protocol dictates that it's up to her and the Royal Family to make the first move,ā€ the Royal Thames Yacht Club member reportedly said. This means that the Palace would need to approach the club and discuss the prospect of Kate taking on the role of commodore."

"King Charles III started the summer holidays, with whisky and wetness joining him as companions on his break. Just a few miles away from the Castle of Mey, the former home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and a favourite summer spot for His Majesty, the King officially opened 8 Doors whisky distillery in the coastal village of John o’ Groats. The distillery is the most northern one in the whole of the UK, located just a short walk away from the North Sea. Though the weather was rainy, the King was all smiles as he was shown around."

The catastrophic fire tearing through Maui, Hawaii, has now become the deadliest wildfire in modern U.S. history, catching the attention of the world and its leaders, including King Charles III.

The monarch shared a personally-signed message to Instagram on Saturday, August 12, where he sent his condolences to U.S. President Biden and the people of Hawaii.

The portion shared to Instagram was just an excerpt of the entire message, which was posted on the official royal family website here.

In his note, King Charles wrote:

ā€œDear Mr. President, my wife and I were utterly horrified to hear of the catastrophic wildfires currently burning in Maui, Hawai'i. We can only begin to imagine the scale of the devastation engulfing the island, and the heartrending anguish of those whose livelihoods have been so disastrously affected.ā€

The monarch continued by offering his ā€œdeepest possible sympathyā€ to the families of those who have lost their lives in the fires, as well as any others affected by the disaster. He closed by writing, ā€œAs the recovery effort continues, my special thoughts are with the extraordinarily brave emergency responders and Maui residents who are providing their support and assistance.ā€

Royal Family Family Shares Striking Photo of King Charles and Sister Princess Anne for Her 73rd Birthday

"In honor of his sister Princess Anne’s 73rd birthday, King Charles, 74, shared two striking photos for royal admirers to enjoy."

"Just a few hours ago, the royal family posted not one, but two pictures of the monarch and his little sister on her special day on the official royal family Instagram account. The first picture was taken on the day of the king’s coronation ceremony earlier this year, and the brother-sister duo can be seen sharing a laugh while standing inside Buckingham Palace in their royal attire."

"But, the pics didn’t stop there. The royals also shared an extremely rare photo of the siblings as young royals, which was snapped at Clarence House in July 1951. In the black-and-white portrait, a much smaller Charles is holding his sister’s hand while they are both sitting in bassinets. And from the throwback photo, it’s apparent the pair had a close-knit bond even back then."

The caption read: ā€œWishing Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal a very Happy Birthday today!ā€

Carbuncles and King Charles: was the royal family’s meddling supertroll right about architecture?
28 September, 2022

"The prince relished his position as the high priest of taste. He gleefully scolded the royally chartered professions of architecture and town planning for creating ā€œgodforsaken citiesā€ littered with ā€œhuge, blank and impersonalā€ buildings. His words were carefully tuned to grab headlines."

"Birmingham city centre was damned as ā€œa monstrous concrete maze,ā€ with a library that looked like ā€œa place where books are incinerated, not keptā€. The brutalist National Theatre on the South Bank was ā€œa clever way of building a nuclear power station in the middle of Londonā€. The British Library looked ā€œmore like the assembly hall of an academy for secret policeā€."

4096.jpg

"Like an accomplished shitposting troll, the prince knew how to rile his targets. He had tested his strategy a few years earlier, in an address to the Royal Institute of British Architects, on the occasion of its 150th birthday."

"Styling himself as a defender of popular opinion, he chided the audience for ā€œignoring the feelings and wishes of the mass of ordinary people in this country,ā€ and famously damned a proposed glass and steel extension to the National Gallery as ā€œa monstrous carbuncle on the face of a much-loved and elegant friend,ā€ nixing the scheme in the process. Four decades on, the c-word continues to be hurled by outraged local residents at everything from luxury flats in York to a station revamp in Lowestoft."

A retired judge has become Bermuda’s first person to receive the medal as Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire directly from King Charles III.

Retired Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller was elated after receiving the insignia this summer for her decades of service to the island’s legal community and the judiciary.

She was recognised in the 2016 New Year’s Honour’s List, but unable to undertake the journey to Britain — with the ceremony then delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

ā€œIt was a fantastic experience,ā€ Mrs Justice Wade-Miller said of her meeting with the King at Windsor Castle.

ā€œThe King came down and greeted me, and said ā€˜I am so honoured that you came all this way to accept this’. I told him the honour was mine.

ā€œHe said he had read about my background and that I had been very, very busy. He asked if I had started to relax, and I enjoyed my chat with him.ā€

She was accompanied by her son, Yusef Wade, who whispered to her after the ceremony: ā€œMom, I’m very proud.ā€

Prince William and Princess Kate get stuck into nature

The Prince and Princess of Wales headed to Hereford
14 Sept 2023

The Prince and Princess of Wales got back to nature today, exploring forest dens and whittling wood at an outdoor learning centre on a visit to Hereford. William and Kate joined children and staff at Madley Primary School’s Forest School, where outdoor learning is prioritised to boost children's physical and mental well being.

The Prince donned safety glasses and gloves to saw through a log, held steady by the Princess whose right hand was still bandaged from a trampolining injury. "Is William doing it right?" she asked the youngsters, who told her he was. She politely declined the offer of gloves for herself, saying: "I can't even put that on because I've got two fingers stuck together."

The Duchy of Cornwall is thought to view Madley School Forest School as a blueprint for others to potentially be created on Duchy land in future and as they left, William told the group: "We need more schools like this. How good would it be for more schools to have access to places like this?"
