You swap out the chairs and I bring my knives. Induction - could be worse.
The chairs could definitely use a higher back. I have knives, thank you, and they're quite sharp.mr47_04

Yes, there is a learning curve with induction burners, but they aren't bad once you get the hang of it. They're not as favorable as gas or propane, but they're far more responsive and superior to ordinary electric burners. I've had them all throughout the years, including electric solid cast iron burners (which required a significant learning curve). I've been really pleased with my propane range for the past 15 years and recently purchased a new one.

Come on over, Twostep; bring your appetite, and if you'd kindly pick up a bottle of red on the way, that would be lovely. :) 🍷🍷

If I had to replace my stove, induction would be my first choice. No thanks to gas. I’ve had several. My present stove is an electric flat top - too slow, imo. My neighbour was just telling me today that her new induction has a learning curve.

A cook with sharp knives and a sharp whit - what more is there to ask for? What is for dinner so get the appropriate grape juice.

Once my stove goes which is not likely to happen in the foreseable future induction may be the way to go but individual units which store on the wall. Venting needs to be explored.

I had a JennAir downdraft mit grill and exchangeable burner cartridges. It was the cat's meow until the down draft needed cleaning.

I’ve had both huge and small kitchens in my life. Big and open was great with a growing family.

Now in old age on my own, I love my tiny kitchen area in my apartment.
I can twirl around in one spot and practically reach everything ..lol ..love that.
Also being able to reach both sides, it helps with balance in walking issues.

I learned to be grateful for my small kitchen for that reason !
