Kitchens ~ any style goes

Whoever invented placing windows above kitchen sinks was a kind and gentle soul.
That must mean that I’m neither. If I’d left the sink where it was on the original builder’s plan, I’d be staring at the neighbours wall. Most of my kitchen prep is done in or beside the sink, so it faces towards the LR/DR. I have a raised counter which separates it visually from the rest of the open plan.

My cousin's kitchen window is on the side of her house & faces her neighbors. What she did was put glass shelves across the window & filled them with plants. They can't see in & all she sees are plants.

:) No, it doesn't. We all know that you are both kind and gentle. But it is good that you have a horizon or at least some depth to glance into every few minutes if you want to.

I was thinking about making a shelf like this for my kitchen. What I like about it is that it's two pieces that can be moved sideways to make it wider or narrower. I could put most of my glass jars that I use to hold salt, pepper, oatmeal, etc. in a more compact space.
