Labor Day. The day all the big displays of Christmas decorations come out. For us, we are going to a big BBQ bash at my granddaughter’s house. Love those get togethers and lots of food.

My parents used to have a clam steam on Labor Day. Since I didn't like clams, mom would fix me up a little cheesecloth bag with chicken and a hot dog and put it in the steamer. Of course there were sides also cooked in the steamer like potatoes, whole onions and corn on the cob.

It's a special holiday for me because I met my hubby over Labor Day weekend in 1991. I can never forget our anniversary.

I think I write this every year but I have a major resentment towards Labor Day. I used to hate the day when I was a kid because I always had to start the new school year the next day so I spent all day Labor Day in a self pity mood. Still haven't gotten over it.
