Ladies, have you ditched your bra?

Since I've retired, I either use a sports bra or go without. I dress casually, and as long as I'm wearing a dark colored pocket tee, thicker cotton type, usually men's, going without is not an issue. Of course a light color or thinner material would mandate a sports bra. If I have to dress up I will wear a regular bra, but it's been many years since I've had to do that.

Oh My!...you can bet all the gents on here have their eyes peeled on this thread ha ha

The girls say they need something pretty to reside in so I buy them lacy bras in a generous size.
Nothing as an eyeopener is for those boobs of all sizes, I speak for myself of course:)

OK @SeaBreeze I'm curious. I've read that last sentence a couple times now, and for me it begs the question .... what does "dress up" mean? To me it means changing out of my weekend or work clothes to go our to lunch or dinner, or a birthday party, dance, a friend's gathering,..any social event.

You come across as a very social person, so it's hard for me to believe that you never go out, at least "go out" in MY frame of reference. Do you mean dress up as in a cocktail dress or formal gown?

I wish I could!

Because I work every day, am around people every day, I don't have the freedom to be...er....free! ;) Additionally, menopause has endowed me additional bulk in that area, so I've gone from a pleasant and manageable 34A to an uncomfortable and annoying 36D, even though my overall weight is just a few pounds heavier than the weight I maintained my whole adult life other than pregnancies. So even when I'm NOT working, it's uncomfortable to go bra-less.

I have a variety of bras for different activities. Workout bras are very comfortable but give me, as Ron likes to call it, a Uni-boob šŸ˜‚ I have some that I wear for work, which are soft cup, no underwire, soft fabrics. Not a lot of heavy duty support, but they're comfortable enough that I can wear them all day at work, round the house on weekends, running errands, casual dress.

When I dance I have to wear something different. I have a line of Playtex bras in several colors that are more structured and offer more support. I wear them also for other social events becuase they give a better look/silhouette to my more dressy outfits.

What about you? I have to assume that those of you who are retired are able to be more relaxed about bras. At least I hope so!!
I usually don't wear one at home. But after my hysterectomy they fluffed up a cup size and I hate them. I wish I could have surgery on them because they make it harder for me to breathe. I have trouble finding comfortable bras but, too modest to go out without one.

I'd be happy to see the whole lot of them "ditched." I wear them, but I hate them. My problem is with the straps; when they are not sliding down off my shoulders, they are digging into my shoulders.

I predict that they will eventually go the way of old-fashioned corsets. Can't happen soon enough for me!!

I've been generously endowed since turning 14. Yes to comfortable bras; yes to underwires. When shopping for new bras, I allot a couple of hours at the stores for the task. Buy a few that like, wear them for a month or two while, then go online to buy more of the best ones. I'm grateful for all those ladies who've had implants because I'm slender but fully busted. My size is much easier to find than it was years ago.

I put a bra on when getting dressed and take it off when getting ready for bed. It's all about a comfortable fit.

For those of you willing to try another bra for comfort reasons:

Bali Comfort Revolution Wirefree Bra

I bought 3. They run out of these fast in many sizes and I've gone back a few times to find when they have more. The most comfortable bra I have ever worn. I got 2 white and 1 black. The price is right, too.

I hear you, Marci.
