Lawyers Should Never Be Allowed In Politics

Abe Lincoln was a self taught Lawyer, but that period is quite legally different than now.
Good Lawd! If Lincoln "woke" up and saw what was going on today he'd go back to the grave in one big hurry.

His idea of "Equality" was regarding true equality. Today's conflict over "Equality" is a struggle for Power - read: Control - over all others, Equals and Unequals.

Never met a lawyer that didn't expect something from you, Blood, belongings etc.
Never met a truthful one either. It's just difficult to prove their liars; lots of practice there!

Most know that most all in business are D- liars, con-men and thieves.
If you hire a lawyer, if you ever said anything you hamstring their lies.
Saying absolutely nothing give them lots of room to experiment, get lots better. Smug ain't it.
My only need for a lawyer has been for conveyancing and estate matters. In each case, the lawyers were solicitors. I have been well served every time.

I am just curious as to why do you think a lawyer would leave his practice if making over $200,000 a year for a job that only pays $175,000? Out of that money, they have to pay their own living expenses and food while working in D.C., not to mention maintain their homes in the state they came from.

I think they make out very well from special interest lobbyists, not to mention money earned from book deals. I’m not sure if they are allowed to earn money while in office giving speeches to private groups.
I actually don't have any opinion at all about this subject. I just saw the OP, and out of curiosity, googled it.
