Learning To Live Without A Microwave Oven

:LOL:
I try to keep my crumb tray cleaned out in my toaster, maybe I do it too much.
I do not want to have to throw out the toaster like I did the toaster oven.
The toaster oven still worked. It was me that was not working properly!
Come on, french fries in a toaster oven. I could have burnt my house down!
Did you start a fire in your toaster oven trying to cook French fries?

Yes there was a fire inside the toaster oven, I unplugged it, the fire went out.
Must have been from the oils in the french fries.
It still worked afterwards but I did not want to risk harming myself or anyone I would give it to.
After it cooled down, I threw the toaster oven in the trash with the fries still in it.

I never liked microwaves, and rarely used any.
Since I've been in current apartment, though, I use it regularly- because this place is my first/only experience with an electric stove and I have great difficulty with it.
@Sunkist
You can search online on how to microwave just about anything,
Example:
How to microwave scrambled eggs
OR
How to cook scrambled eggs on an electric stove

Sometimes I read several different ones to see which idea I like the best.

I use the microwave at least 3 times a day. Without it I would spend a lot of time and extra dishes warming things on a stove.

Microwave radiation is low energy radiation, with wavelength between AM radio waves and visible light. You would only be in trouble if their were a giant microwave and you jumped inside it and turned it on.

My microwave oven rusted through recently so bought another from Home Depot that has been fine thus far.

@David777 After using, do you wipe the inside of your microwave to get rid of condensation and leave the door open for 10-20 minutes so it dries out? The first microwave I owned started to rust inside, when I replaced it, that was the advice I was given and, I have never had a problem with subsequent microwaves. (y)

While we’re on the subject of microwaves and flaming French fries šŸ”„šŸŸ

Does anyone have any experience with these microwave browning pans…do they work as advertised or are they just a gimmick?

I used to buy these individual packets of microwave French fries and they were good but a bit spendy. I haven’t seen them recently.

@Aunt Bea
I tried a browning pan for the microwave a few years ago, it did not really seem to make that much difference.
Maybe I just got a cheaply made one.
I use the oven now.

I used to make homemade french fries in oil, I would probably burn myself up if I tried now.

I’ve caught fire šŸ”„ in my toaster oven before. I was toasting bread and cheese sandwich. I chucked my toaster oven out also. I didnt want to start a fire in my apartment either. I used my toaster oven a lot. I made chicken cordon bleu in it a few times.

I have always done things mostly my way and by myself. Always go go go. get it done.
It took my children being upset and concerned about me for me to realize that I am old.
I can't do what I used to do, the way I want to do things anymore.
I try to be really careful now, for my children.
