I don't take selfies. I know what I look like so I don't need any. So many people seem to take them at every possible opportunity - why? Do they forget what they look like? Unless a photo is taken to place the subject in a specific location - why bother? Even then, is the picture about the location, or the photographer?
The picture is about making a memory.

Sure, younger people tend to take a lot of selfies to show themselves to their friends, and post on Instagram and Snapchat. But the majority of people takes selfies either with other people or with a background that memorializes a person, event or location.

I never take selfies alone, unless I'm doing it for comedic reasons (like my hair is standing on end, or I have a milk mustache or something.) All my selfies are with one or more people, most often family members. My grands love taking selfies with me!

For me it's all about the memories.

Ok, I'm game. Here is what I look like. A real guy with real feelings & a good sense of humour. This photo was taken last year in Puerto Vallarta. I'm using my laptop at this moment & these are the Mexico photos are all I got. I haven't changed much in one year. Thanks for all those brave hearts who posted. I enjoyed your photos. For the rest, well, we still love to read your comments. I always say, "It's a free country but there are many people working to make it not free". Adios!

I don't have a cell phone, and if I did I would not post a photo of me and give you guys a fright and/or heart attack. I love you guys and want to have a few more chats with you. 😻

Ronni, even with tussled bedroom hair, I love your hairstyle!

I've always loved to get to see real photos of people because I feel closer, you know, like have "real" people to talk to. I suppose if I were a blind person I'd care less about how people look. I think every photo/selfie looks wonderful, every one of you. One time I did get to know someone pretty well, before I knew what she looked like. I felt I knew from her personality too, that I was going to just love her, and I did (also carry her picture). So I'm not totally dependent on how people look. I admit to taking a new selfie every year because I don't want folks (especially old school friends) to faint from shock to see how much I've aged, LOL!!

Haven't been out of my "shell" much this year, and I've made it a lot more hard on myself. But I'm here today, guess I'll focus on that. And, maybe this coming year is going to be better for all of us seniors.

One of the most redeeming features of this website is the fact that people are real nice. I have been on news sites where people are suppose to post comments about a certain news story. Some do but then some people start calling other posters as "stupid" or what not. Those sites are a complete waste of time. I sense that pretty well most people here have a pretty good education & a sense of what is right & what is wrong. I'm glad there are no name callers here because we are all real people with real lives & some of us have real problems or just something to say that is wroth reading. Keep up the good works; one & all.
