but I wanted to share this as we were talking about it on Facebook, and I so dream of being here one day (feel welcome to share your fave fireworks displays;):

I wanna come, too, and thought I just posted and said so. I guess posting only works when you hit "post quick reply"?

No, it works if you hit "reply" or "reply" with quote too;) Yes, you can come, be glad to have you;) another item for our bucket list;) denise

I only need a half a bucket, Denise. I've seen Big Ben, just not with fireworks for a backdrop.

While we're there, Holly, high tea? Can we do that? And BTW, just exactly what IS clotted cream? It doesn't exactly sound tasty.

Georgia you would be very welcome to come too. The firweorks at midnight on New years eve is amazing, we don't really go any more , well you don't when you live here, but millions from all over the world come. I'd go if you two came to visit tho', we'd have a great time showing you around.;)

Clotted cream is basically a thick pasteurized cream, full of fat and very rich so you only can have a little bit with jam on top of a scone. It's a little hard to get in cafes' and tea-rooms in London unless you eat High tea in the top hotels although you can buy it in the supermarkets and stores, but it's a traditional offering in the West country (Cornwall and Devon).

It's a bit like asking for grits in a New York restaurant lol
