Loretta Lynn: They've Killed Country Music

I grew up when being country wasn't cool. I loved Conway, Loretta duos, those were the days where a song could tell a story.

Today's country ABC..... Anything But Country. Would prefer to listen to my cat yodeling.

George and his lawnmower already mentioned.
Video shows George Jones sloppy drunk driving his lawn mower to beer store.
His wife had left, took George's car key's
'Hey, I'm too drunk to walk, got drive my lawn mower to beer store.'
He was a surly drunk.

Emma Lou Harris-highly thought of for artistic ability when singing.
I never thought she was 'special,' as a singer. She's difficult to understand and sings
very softly.
However, she is a 'looker;' she is one of my girlfriends.

I suppose all music runs in cycles, as in most other endeavors.

Never got too enthusiastic for Emmy Lou Harris, but Linda Ronstadt was a different story.

And per ClassicRockr above, always liked Mary Chapin Carpenter for her singing and songwriting skills.

Dead it may be but I bought a couple days ago Ken Burns, “History Of Country Music” and also the Sound Track.

I like/liked all three...but Emmylou was & still is my favorite.

Although Dolly Parton (by herself) is far from my favorite, I love the two CD's I own called Trio and Trio II, featuring close harmonies by Dolly, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris, to all kinds of wonderful songs, including country.

I was never a fan of "Country". You had to have some kind of nasal condition to sing it. Wouldn't mind its death certificate to hang on my wall. Just kidding. BTW I remember when Twitty was a rocker, before he turned to the dark side.

I still like country music. And I think it has evolved and do something new and interesting. Now please don't hit me...lol
