You're blaming me for bringing religion to this thread? I think it would be nearly impossible to discuss this case and not bring religion into it. Lori Vallow met Daybell through religious books he had written, she herself is leader of a small religious cult where she calls herself a prophet. She references religion constantly.
Did you listen to her in the recorded final plea to the judge? She says that Jesus talks to her and loves her and approves everything she did. I would call that bringing religion to it wouldn't you? That video is on this thread, so I guess I'm not the only one "bringing religion into it."
I couldn't name all the scriptures she uses to try and justify her actions, she takes verses out of context and quotes them so that their meaning is convoluted. Many of the scriptures she uses are from the Book of Mormon and the Doctrines and Covenants they follow. One line from the Mormon doctrines she uses says, "If he comes at you three times then you can kill him." She used that to justify to herself and her brother that her husband should be killed. Mormons say it is out of context and she misunderstood its meaning.
I, myself, am not Mormon and don't agree with their teachings at all, so don't ask me to cite their scriptures or defend them.
You're not "out on a limb" calling her a religious fanatic. Everyone calls her that. Everyone knows her delusions don't fly in a civil court.
I don't know why you keep trying to argue with me as though you think I'm defending her.
I think you know I'm a Christian and somehow you're trying to blame me and all other Christians for what this woman did.
