Man thinks he shot Mr. Trump

Very strange case, that's for sure.
 

I would suggest that this guys actions reflect the messages he has picked up from the radical left. Let's face it, if you are "on the edge" and people keep telling you that our new President is a Nazi, Fascist, sexist, homophobe, etc. and is going to take away all SS, Medicare, etc. this sort of reaction is predictable.

Then why is he the only one that has done it, HUH? This guy obviously didn't know what he was doing or who he was shooting so your answer is highly unlikely. I don't have those kinds of messages that you describe going around in my head and I am socialist. Your sweeping generalizations of the far left is only that: a generalization.

I'm not sure what that means. Do the left wing whackos not call him a Nazi, Fascist, sexist, racist, homophobe, etc.?? Do they not say he is going to take away SS, Medicare, etc.?? Might that not push someone already on the edge over??

Or, maybe he has been listening to what the man has said, the words right from his own mouth. Despite the name-calling and the labels--people often draw their own conclusions but this man obviously has some problems. We have no idea what may have triggered this event. Your attempt at flipping serves no purpose.

So, according to your logic, when we encounter someone who is a Nazi, Fascist, sexist, homophobe, etc., we are not allow to mention any of this, as if it were in bad taste? Because some wacko might be inspired to
pick up a gun? Really, Ray?

(And of course, no one on the right has ever said anything derogatory about Obama.)

First of all the Left wingers are not wackos but have plenty of sense; I am left wing and don't call him any of those things, but I defend those that do. Jjust saying you are wrong with your generalizing about left wing people. I am waiting to see what the Trumpster does. Why would that push someone over the edge? Maybe it is the chemistry in their brains that would push them over, ever think of that? They may need some kind of medicine to stop them from shooting at people they think are Trump because their chemistry has gone awry. We don't know what makes them that way. You can ask professionals and they don't know exactly what would push someone over the edge. So why would you know? It's too bad you don't have the common decency to be polite to others unlike you and have to call us wackos just because you disagree with us.

I am confused. Granted, everything regarding this murder is under review, so any firm conclusions are premature. However, in my practice, I have dealt with dozens of people presenting with all manner of delusions. Some committed acts of violence,

most did not. Only three killed without provocation. None of them became psychotic as a result of any political cant or murdered an innocent man under the psychotic belief they were a politician. Certainly I do not understand what left wing

statements have to do with this tragedy. I would be very surprised if the perpetrator is not suffering from some severe established psychosis. He appeared too calm and coherent to lead me to think he just "snapped" under pressure from alleged

"mediatosis." Look instead for changes in his personal life, or medical history. I am saddened by any attempt to turn this tragic homicide into a let's bash the left verbal smack down. It is inappropriate, insensitive, and cruel. We have been consistently

held to a higher standard here on SF. The fact that it is Xmas holiday season, seems to just make it worse. Differences of opinion are not indicative of psychopathy, however, rigid intolerance is among the markers used to diagnose various Personality Disorders.

I agree that this person could have had recent changes in his personal life or medical history now that you mentioned it-it makes sense Shali. Those are the kinds of things that really seem to matter to people. But actually it is hard to predict the exact trigger that would cause someone to go over the edge, IMHO.

Ya know after I read your post again I feel angry that you blame it on the left. Trump may be all that you say he is not or may not be, that is debatable. We happen to have freedom of speech and everyone has freedom of speech and we don't blame our freedom of speech on anyone shooting someone!!

I heard nothing directly from Mr. Trump that could evoke such a reaction. On the other hand, someone who is on the edge could be pushed over with comments about taking away SS and Medicare leaving seniors to starve or die in the streets. And then there is the Nazi, Fascist, sexist, racist, homophobe, etc. litany - surely there is something in all that to ring a bell with any nut.

Why?

Yes, during the primaries there was some nastiness. Yes, we have freedom of speech. I am not questioning any of that. I am merely pointing out how some of the extreme language from the "showflakes" of the left could trigger action from someone unstable. Let's face it, if you hear "Nazi" often enough, you might start to believe it.

Kind of like hearing born in Kenya. Or refused aid in Benghazi, or ran a pedophilia, ring in a pizza parlor or sold her office,or her career is littered with a trail of bodies

Shalimar - the topic is a whack-job who thought he killed Trump and people's opinion as to why. What, pray tell, has Kenya, Benghazi, and something about a trail of bodies have to do with it except to distract or excuse. By excuse, I don't mean literally but the old trick of, "Oh yeah, well what about.....??" often used to lessen the blame for an act.
