I really have no idea. My phone stays in my purse turned off. But now you have me curious, so I'll have to go look.Is your cell phone service out? I just read that AT&T, T Mobile, and Verizon are having coast to coast issues with service outages. Only SOS capability in some areas. AT&T had 32,000 reports of outages.
That's exactly what I have... Samsung phone, Tracfone service, and in my purse turned off.I just heard it is ATT here outages for cell phones. Mine is off in my purse but I just charged it. It is a tracfone and i don't know what carrier they use.
That was my first thought.Probably the Lizard People starting their big offensive.
Change Healthcare was very recently hit with a cybersecurity attack.I have not tried mine, but I was just reading on Twitter that people all over are talking about cell phone outages on most of the major companies. There are also reports of a huge cyber attack here in the USA, and one was a warning to hospitals about a cyber attack that is hitting insurance companies.
Also, someone posted that we are having a really large solar flare, so that could be affecting cell reception as well.
My friend has AT&T in Florida and she was able to text this morning.Well I have MetroPCS which is under T Mobile's umbrella. I believe my son is now on T Mobile. We talked on the phone this morning and I just got through to him again, so we're good. I also talked with my BFF this morning and she's in Florida. I forgot which service she has though.
They said solar flare but wouldn't that put them all.out of service? No cell service here, either. Solar flare? Who knows but nice to not be bothered...
I've been reading for weeks about possible mass outages due to solar flares. In fact I posted something about it in a thread here and somebody "poo-pooed" it. This could well have been a cyber attack though. There has been news that the US has intel about (foreign) bad actors who intend to target our infrastructure.I have not tried mine, but I was just reading on Twitter that people all over are talking about cell phone outages on most of the major companies. My son texted me over a month ago that he was at the doctor's office ready to pick me up. I found out when I called him to see if he would be able to. He said check your text. Well, I still haven't gotten that text! I've gotten many others since then though. That's one of the reasons I tell my loved ones, if something is important...call me, don't text me.Yesterday while waiting for text from wife when she was scheduled to land (flying in for SIL's funeral). DD got a text but not me. We have Consumer Cell (understand they piggyback on the AT&T towers). Was able to finally get a text after 2 hours. Not much of an issue but good to know.
