Oh that poor sheep! Now I am thinking... would all sheep naturally grow as much wool as that if for some strange reason we didn't shave it off?

If so, they would all be sadly uncomfortable, yes? Have we genetically engineered sheep to grow more wool than originally? If we stopped wool-gathering, would the sheep evolve to having less wool?
