I know everyone here will be busy with Christmas stuff, family, dinners, visiting......... eating too much ;), but I wanted to take a minute to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope this one has been passable-to-good, and the next one is better than whatever you did get in 2015.

I'm going to be here only periodically because we finally got an offer on our house so we'll be heavy into moving mode right after Christmas. An incredible amount to do and I have to plan for a garage sale no later than mid-March because we have to be driving out, loaded and ready to go by April 17th! Can you imagine a move across country at that time of year? But the market here is so bad that when somebody finally comes along and makes you a decent offer, you don't tell them to come back in spring you know!

Anyway, have a good and a safe holiday season and I'll see you from time to time.

Best regards,

Debby

Of course I wish you a Merry Christmas Deb, but I am so happy to hear you sold and are able to move. Where are you going? Should I begin a search for a suitable home here in Arizona for you?

Thanks Debby! So good to hear you've sold your home and are making the move. Hope everything goes smoothly for you. You be safe too, and hope you find some time to drop by and say hello! Merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year to you my friend! :love_heart:

Debby, I am so happy for you!!! Do try to sneak in a few minutes here and there to update us here. :) I will try to upload a photo taken about 15 miles from my house, down the mountains in the flatlands. :) It's what's left of a very old house. People decorate the fireplace for every season of the year.

I'm sure you're happy, Debby, but oh, the stress. Going to be a hectic season for sure. I could never face a move like that.
I have to die in place. I certainly wish you a trouble free transition to a happier result. Drive safe.

Well Jim, afraid that I won't be able to do the snowbird thing but mighty nice of you to offer your help in looking for a place to set down :)! Actually, we were talking about maybe stopping along the way back to BC and spending a year renting on Prince Edward Island where our daughter and her family live. Our grandson is 8 and Elsa is just turned 5 and we were feeling crummy about leaving them but this will give us a year where we're almost next door instead of being a 6 hour drive away. Then we figured we'd head out to Calgary and spend a year renting there where our youngest lives with her new beau whom we've never met. I figure that way we can head back to our final destination which will be Chilliwack (or 'The Wack' as the locals call it) and feel totally guilt free because each of the girls got a year of undivided attention before we fade and grey into obscurity and senility, hah!

You know, we went to a spiritualist just for fun about a month ago, and she said, that we would be moving, but it wouldn't be our last move! How did she know? And we hadn't had any thought of stopping on PEI until just tonight. Woooo! Spooky!

Thanks for all the well wishes folks!

A move like this seems daunting but you know what? I figure that we’ve moved about 16 times so far during our 40 year marriage, and maybe now two more times (before the seniors home)…..so we are slipping into organizational mode easily!

I think in a past life we were gypsy’s or something because come spring, we get restless constantly. We should have just bought a great big motor home decades ago, except we both like to set down roots in between moves.

Anyway, thanks again and I’ll be dropping in from time to time, so don’t think you can all talk about me like I’m not coming back okay? I have spies everywhere you know and I’ll find out!

(just kidding :))

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Debby. I hope the move goes well without a hitch. I have moved many times in my life and find it a very stressful time but you seem to be handling it very well.
