Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Tyson Vs Paul highlights

Well I've never been a Tyson fan, but I know nothing of Jake Paul before this bout, plus Tyson is the old guy so I kinda side with him.

Some points information:
Mike Tyson landed just 18 punches across that 16 minute fight. He threw 97. Jake Paul, on the other hand, landed 78, more than four times as many. He threw 278. Source

Yea, that was pretty evident, made me wince in sympathy for the old guy. I don't envy Jake Paul for being known for beating up on a guy that's old enough to be his grandfather. But for $40 million I guess I could learn to live with that. :D

Once I was an avid boxing fan but when corruption in the entire sport became so completely obvious, I quit watching. From the beginning, the promotion of this card made it evident that it would be an over-hustled circus but despite my better angels, I watched the blankey-blank thing. I am totally done with the so called sport.

I gave up on it in '91 after watching Fenech vs Nelson.

How's that saying?
Never fight an old man, if you win there's no glory in it and if you lose.
Bwahaha...🤣😂

Shouldn't Tyson be paid more? I believe most people watched it because of him. Honestly, I thought he earned ten times what Paul did.

Thanks to @Trade, I found out about the fight from this thread. I turned on the TV right away, and believe it or not, I only had to wait 10 minutes before the fight started.

Didn't see the fight but when Tyson had to postpone the fight I knew he was done. He lost too much to be in shape for a professional fight. That being said to be in the ring and not get knocked out or pulverized by an opponent 1/2 his age is a feat. The punches landed-18 pretty much tells the story.

Just an observation since George Foreman and Tyson took years/decades off from fighting and comeback fairly strong have to wonder if some professional athletes should take more breaks from the intense year round training regimes. Not totally off but the body needs time to recover from what ever. Enhanced or expedited recover can only do so much including some harm.

You would think so, but I guess they had to hype it up, to make Iron Mike look as dangerous as he was in his prime. (hence the lower fee)

All that we got to watch was a glorified friendly spar session, as far as I am concerned, it has taken away from the integrity of the sport.

I wasn't at all interested but I couldn't help seeing the results on various news channels. Tyson was annihilated but who cares?

Jake Paul & Tyson fight was all about the hype. IMO not a real boxing match more like a lame sparring session. But who can blame them for the money made for 16 minutes of entertainment?

The real boxing was between Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano. For their work a reported a little over 6 million for Katie Taylor & Amanda Serrano not reported but suppoedly more than Taylor. A total of 20 minutes in the ring boxing.

My view is all in all a profitable night for fighters.

Agreed!

I just got out of the hospital. Who won the fight?
